What's simple about this question? You're asking two different things.

He averaged a triple double in the playoffs last year, i think most teams in the league will take him for 5 years 55 million.

The truth is definately a borderline Hall of Famer. He's shown heart, he's an excellent closer, he can play defense and offense and he's actually stuck to one team.
Ray Allen is one of the greatest shooters of all time. Almost as good as Reggie Miller.

Personally, I think Rondo is better. The 7 game series against Chicago is proof. Rondo has amazing defense, court vision and can drive, finish, rebound. His shot is slowly improving but is still terrible compared to Brooks though.

However, Brooks is a cooler guy and that's what matters. :D

I think brooks is much better than rondo, because brooks could create scoring opportunities by himself. but rondo is based on big 3. (chinese)

Simple as plain and Rajon Rondo is more a PG than Brooks, who shoots the ball first rather than finding the open spot up shooters on the perimeter.

But if Rondo were on this current Rockets roster, things would have gotten even worse due to lacking of scoring options.

I'd take Brooks over Rondo anyday.

I swear...in general, posters on this board suck so bad at making polls.

HINT: Don't make a poll and then ask two different questions in your opening post.

You either choose Rondo or Brooks, simple.

I added the rest so that people would elaborate on their answer. Most would state:

    Oo ooo Brooks!

    Or Rondo.

Who would you want on this team, who's better? Simple, just answer the question.

Clearly you don't understand that someone can be a better player, but not better for a certain team. You asked both questions.

Man if this was last year, with Yao and Artest, I would have said Ronda without a thought.

My question was more so of, who would fit better on this team, I know some players can be better than others but fall into a system that doesn't fit they're play.

What I was eluding to was, if you had a choice between the 2 to start on this roster who would it be?

I like Rondo for his athleticism and defense. But Brooks can take it to the rim and hit the outside jumper (3).

Who would be better for us?

    the overrating of Brooks continues.

It's true, he does provide some needed scoring on a band-aid team like the Rockets, but that's a situational thing. At the end of the day, I'll take Rondo's defense and passing if I'm building a real team.

You know, that other PG on this team, who is good at defense, driving to the hole and passing seems to be more effective than Brooks pretty frequently.

I like poor man's Rondo, quite a bit; and would love to have the real deal on the team.

My point is, you asked two questions in the same post that could clearly have different answers, but there is only one poll (Brooks or Rondo?) on which to cast a vote. We can't read your mind to know which of the two questions the poll actually refers to.

    But I digress...

You say that you like Brooks for his shooting and because he can take the ball to the rim. Well, Rondo takes the ball to the rim better than Aaron does. In fact, Rondo is better clear across the board except for shooting 3's and free throws. I don't see it as much of a contest when looking at it objectively.

I picked Rondo. Rondo has more savvy than Brooks does right now and Rondo is such a unique player. People harp on the fact that Rondo can't shoot, but he's still an extremely effective facilitator, rebounder, and defender. Rondo has actually figured out ways to score without a consistent jumper.

Brooks can learn some things from watching Rondo play. Rondo's getting really good at using his quickness to score baskets inside the paint. He'll dribble into the paint, dribble back out, and if the defender relaxes just a little he'll slip in again for the lay up. He's so quick that guys can't stop him.

Rondo wasn't doing things 2 years ago, he learned those moves through experience and watching other points. Brooks should be able to pick up a few more ways to use his quickness by watching Rondo.
