I realize Tmac is not Kobe but he can win ball games even if his shot is not falling. For some reason when he plays, the supporting cast plays very well. Also, with Yao out we may be a slightly better defensive team not to mention the fact that everyone is hustling more and has a sense of urgency. I am counting on us playing .500 ball in games that Tmac plays and that is not a stretch at all. I know it is hard to believe that Tmac w/o Yao will give us more wins but for some reason we can not seem to win when it is just Yao. Usually when Tmac is out there the offense runs so much smoother and his length, strength, passing and athleticism is always needed. People talking about tanking have absolutely no faith in Tmac or anyone else on our team.
well we have 4 winnable games in the next 5 before we go on a horrible stretch after the minny game. at chi - back to back probably a loss v. LAL - possible win, but more than likely a loss at den - everyon except melo will be back but AI is looking great in den. probably loss at sac - back to back, probably a loss at arco at dal - loss v. pho - loss v. den - we should be able to beat them at home at. SA - loss after that our sched is relatively easy. after the SA our next 14 games in jan and feb there are only 3 sure losses. 2 against dallas and 1 against miami with shaq back. we have to win 3 of the next 5 because we are gonna get smoked in the 8 games after that. but if we play defense like we did last night then we might have a chance in a lot more games. this sucks. god i hope tmac can stay healthy.
I'm pretty positive about the Rox getting 7-8th seed. I realize that the odds are against us, but like most have said we have better support this time. Speaking of support.. what the hell is the word with Bobby Sura???? anyone know what's up with him? Also, when is Snyder coming back? they said 8 weeks about 4 weeks ago, right?
I like your "one stretch at a time" approach. Even better would be if our prospect is to be compared to those of our main competitors' when we keep a close eye on the last two playoff berths.
I don't know. There are so many bad teams this year that Rox might survive even without Yao. They just need to sweep as many eastern conference teams as possible and try to split games with teams in the west. Of course playoffs is a different story. God I wish Rox is in the eastern conference because that conference sucks.
The 6th, 7th, or 8th seed wouldn't necessarily bring a horrible matchup in the first round. They could end up facing either the Jazz or Nuggets. I'll take the Rockets with a healthy Yao and T-Mac over those two teams any day.
the problem is, I heard Yao's gona be out for 30~35 games(not necessarily 6 weeks).. and thats basically pretty much the rest of the season.. I really hope he comes back soon, but at the same time I don't want him to rush.. Either way 30 games plus is a big chunk of the season.
well as long as we get him back before march, about 9 weeks of recovery, we will be ok. when march starts we come up on another very difficult stretch of games. so basically anything under 30 games is survivable.
The play-offs is achievable provided that the 26-9-2 that Yao brings to the table is covered as a team until he comes back. I imagine Bonzi, Shane, Howard and Mutombo will step up. The team's strength is its defense. Keep the game close and let T-mac take over the 4th quarter.
ehh... dude, don't be so anal.. 30 OR 35 games is crap load of games.. Put this in perspective... its longer than Pau's been out for Memphis(which seemed like forever), and makes Carmelo's 15 game suspension seem miniscule.. Believe me, when you play fantasy basketball, each game counts. So you pay attention to this kind of stuff. Especially if its your star player is out, which in my case my first round pick is Yao Ming.
Gentlemen we are an Elite team we have a solid starting 5 and a good bench YAO TMAC BONZI BATTIER SNYDER HEAD ALSTON LUCAS III NOVAK SPANOULIS THIS IS AN ELITE TEAM No team would want see us in the playoffs either. The only teams I would ot want to see in first round is PHOENIX or LAKERS, due to coaching issues, UTAH migh also be a problem but we have not yet played them enough to determine that but any other team that plays a half court style like us we can definitely take on (spurs, nuggets, dallas, clippers). Even in the East we can beat Miami, Bulls, Pistons, Orlando. keep your heads up and maybe we can still make a move or two before the season is over to address our PF and backup center issues, but we are an ELITE team as is.
wow these guys are all rookies Well JL3 got some PT last year but you get the point. Also they are not rotation players when the rockets are healthy.
yeah, that is just simple math, maybe outdated math. My advanced recalculations say 12-6. Can anyone check my math on this? Maybe we should check it against 18games.com's stuff.
