Thats are need and thats where we will get one.....if we couldnt package Scola before the trade deadline what makes you think we will be able to do so this offseason!!???We were plenty desperate this season for anything close to a 7'0/C to...... think fellas...........IT IS WRITTEN.

Hayes, I like your post but disagree a bit on whether we need a post player like Luis etc.

I think that you need to be able to play a variety of offenses and defenses, because matchups will dictate different things each and every game.

IMO, it is not that Luis is hurting their progress, so much as it is a matter of chemistry, and defined roles.

When Luis is out there, he is one of the best options, at the elbow and in the paint, having a variety of options is key to Adelman's or anyone elses offense for that matter.

Plus, I really want PPat and JHill to learn Luis' footwork, he has amazing footwork, right up there with Hakeem and McHale as one of the best all time.

The key to playing with Luis, IMO, is that you have to compliment him with a big at the rim, so there is still some chemistry issues to resolve, and if the team decides to trade Luis, fine....

But if he was traded today, the team would decline as they would have no low post option at all, and you need one, it just depends upon whom you are playing that particular night.

    Just my .02

The Spurs game is dedicated to all Scolas traders.
    The last 3 Spurs positions:
    1) Scola draws the offensive foul from Ginobilli
    2) Scola takes the ball from Duncan’s hands
    3) Get the crucial rebound to win this game

He is a WINNER. Never forget that.

Sorry to repeat my post, but the game thread will be away soon, and I'd like to know if it's just me.....

Scola is severely underrated by a bunch of Rockets fans. Any athletic guy having a good game (Ppat, Hill, Landry back in time...)...gets more praise than him.

It would seem that it's the same pack of AB lovers, by the style of their writing and the severe lack of basketball knowledge they show.

Scola has 6 TO this games. If not his 2 critical TO in the fourth quarter when we are up 102:96, we don't even need a overtime.

Even after such TO, Scola had a +5. Scola had 21 pts, 14 rebouds, 6 asists...if you didn't notice.

It's nothing personal with trading Scola, it's business.

His contract is good, other teams covet him, and he will likely be too old to contribute heavily once the Rockets are good again.

We need to get something for him while we can.

Look, only an idiot would think that Scola is a detriment to this team. But I believe that Scola is our best shot at upgrading the roster due to the glut at PF. Hayes and Patterson are both more valuable than Scola when you consider age/contract/trade-ability, imo.

Would I trade Scola for someone like Granger straight up? Hell no because then we'd lose our best chip for landing a center and be left with no post game. But I would use him if it means we can land a good center, I just don't know what exactly his value is around the league.

I didn't think your posts were so bad, until you started over-reacting. That's when you made yourself look like a kid.

Nothing wrong with that. Everybody has to be one sometimes. But, NEVER get into a cat fight in a forum. Even if you win, you lose. Next time, take a deep breath, make one well-though-out post, and move on. Go to another thread, or take a couple days off.

It's bad enough to get into a cat fight with a bunch of bozos, but you were doing it with some of the best posters here.

One can get along here, even if disliked. But not the way you're going.

I bet Scola will be an effective offensive player for seven more seasons-- or more. With Chuck, Pat, and JHill, we're loaded at the four. If we can get Deandre or Demarcus, I'd spend some of our assets for that (duh). My fear is we'll be hoping for a miracle: a healthy Yao, and/or a fixed-feet Thabeet.

BTW, is Brad going to pick-and-pop any more 3s this season? Ever? Is he hurt, or what?

So bobrek is "a follower," and I have "groupies?" You get more hilarious from one post to another. Members like bobrek and crash registered years before I did. I may have lurked here a long time before becoming a member, but it was guys like them that I looked to for clues to how things ought to be done around here, something you should consider trying sometime before posting. You're so off base that you couldn't find the Juice Box with the help of the Houston Chamber of Commerce.

Really, you're simply clueless about this place, and certainly have me confused with someone else. I don't have followers, although I'd like to think I have a few friends, Junior.

You need a few good one on one players. There are times when plays break down or you don't have time to run set plays. Case in point, Lowrys shot at the end of regulation. Yes, our offense is based on ball and player movement but one on one basketball is still very much part of a successful offense. So to say we don't need post offense because its one on one basketball is wrong. Drawing double teams leaves players open for open shots, which is a good thing.
