Yao is not a quitter. Yao doesnt take bad heat check shots. Yao works hard all the time. Yao plays hard and when he doesnt play its bc of something real serious. Yao does not affect the team negatively rather he affects the team chemistry in a positive way, being happy for their success.

LOL you're a funny guy. While the teammates that didn't show up worked their butts off to win during the season, Tmac was on cruise control.

He strolled into the playoffs like he had never played a game during the season. Have you never noticed how much harder he tries when he is on national TV or when he is going up against a Lebron or Kobe. Tmac is all about himself. If he was about winning he would give full effort every night like Ron.

Come playoff Tmac becomes the man, but he only gets his, so can't blame him right. Too bad the best player on the team gets blamed when the team loses.

"I'm going to announce that I'm getting microfracture surgery four days before the trade deadline and kill any potential trade"

This is stupid. TMac would have obviously failed any physical.

tracy spent a decade quitting and whining and manipulating and cratering and lamenting and blaming and self-aggrandizing and finger pointing his way through his career. he put in a lot of hours earning this kind of criticism. let him enjoy the fruits of his labor.

some of you are so insensitive.

physicals can be waived, as far as i understand it. the clippers were reportedly willing to take on his contract.

but personally i don't think he announced his surgery just to block a trade.

Seeing as how the top docs said he was fine, I doubt it.

Anyone that hasn't, I'd recommend you read the entire article (which overall doesn't have anything to do with McGrady). It's one of the top pieces Simmons has ever written - it's sharp, it's well-informed, and it's dead on.

I'll leave the part about Tracy alone - what's done is done.

Like i said im throwing this year out the window and only focusing on the previous seasons. You guys remind me of best friends that stab each other in the back. All of you were loving Tracy when he was doing good and now yall dont wanna give him credit for nothing. my point only was playoffs playoffs playoffs

I have no doubt in my mind that T-fluff could have played this year if had chose to play. He chose to have surgery. Everything points to the surgery being an optional procedure. He chose to take that option even though the doctors told him he could play.

Unless they MRI his heart and his brain they will never find a medical conclusion for why he isn't a winner. I'm glad I don't have to see him walk the ball up the court or wave off his team so he can throw up fifteen one-on-one bricks.

I'm glad that I don't have to sit through another playoff series wondering why T-mac isn't driving it to the rack in the last quarter of the game.

I agree, when he played with EFFORT he played well, but that was never game in and game out. I have always criticized McGrady for his effort on the court. And playoff playoffs playoffs have always equated to first round exits.

I know I'm behind the times on this one, but that was outright hilarious!

I hate to admit it, but I have to agree... I kinda wonder if he will be able to recover with a more complicated surgery... I would say I will hold on to his contract until it expires for 2010 free agent class... As much as I love TMac, I think he really let this team down...

I have always been a Tmac supporter, but I have to admit that the article is spot on. It was pretty obvious to me.

Some of the world's best doctors insisted that he didnt need surgery yet he elected to have one.

Honestly, I think T-Mac rather sign for cheap to play with a contender like Celtics, Lakers or Spurs than to sign for a big contract on a rebuilding team.
