I can’t see Wall as a 6th man in a contender scenario.. our lineup would be Simmons/Gordon/House/PJ/Wood with Wall/Cousins coming off the bench, how are we even a top 3 seed in the west? How does John Wall deal with being out of the lineup? Remember, in a realistic scenario Wall and Simmons won’t be seeing the court together much. Too complicated of a fit. If we have to move Wall, how do we still have the assets to make the team better? Since we mortgaged out future in the Westbrook trade, we can’t even tank much for the next few years.
If we trade Harden we aren't a top 3 seed and we aren't a contender this year and probably not the next either no matter who we get unless Wood reaches AD level. We actually can tank for the next few years. The 21 pick is a swap which will likely end up being Miami's pick with OKC taking our pick and their own. We still own our 22 and 23 picks with no restrictions. Contrary to popular belief, now is the time to start a medium rebuild around guys like Simmons and Wood. We will likely have two mid to late first round picks (Miami and Port) in this years draft. We get Detroit's first in one of the next four years if they make the playoffs. We get Washington's first in 23 if they make the playoffs. And we have our picks in 22 and 23. Maybe Wall is healthy and looking like his old self and we can get a lesser deal than what OKC for for CP3 next off-season. Now is 100% the time to be bad. After that our picks go to OKC in 24, 25(swap), and 26.
Jaylen Brown just looks like the best fit. Good defense, scoring efficiency is up there. Siakam really works well too but Harden is the most natural fit of all. He just needs to be a little more humble to get that chip he wants. This team has potential that many of y’all are talking about.
The answer is the Pacers us Wall, Gordon, Warren, Sabonis, Wood —> 2 Unprotected FRP and 3 swapping for the better FRP pick them Harden, Oladipo, McDermontt, Tucker, Turner —> House, Clemons Results I think we meet in Finals, I really do.
Siakam’s stats look better than Brown’s in just about every category. Simmons can’t shoot. He is a younger taller Westbrook. You can get away with that in the regular season but it will kill you in the playoffs when teams will scheme against him. I love Herro’s game, but he seems like the third best player on a good team.
Simmons and its not even close. He's the only player of the ones mentioned that has elite level skills: Passing and Defense. His passing and defense are arguably top 10 in the league at his position. You can't say that about the other guys, although Siakam is an elite defender himself.
Marc Stein saying what I keep saying. Simmons is really the only real target that makes a ton of sense. I think a trade gets done today or tomorrow.
Yeah...so much for that. I would browse his twitter for more but it seems his strategy is to throw as much crap at the wall and see what sticks.
nba is not an excel sheet If you think simmons is a bad defender you really have no business watching at this point
