i guess this is where cultural differences and personal opinion come into play. there should be laws, but the punishment should match the crime. homosexuality, even if you want to call it a crime, is not violent and to me doesnt warrant a violent punishment. murders, rapists and child molesters - i think they should all face the most severe punishment. they are the ones negatively affecting peoples lives in a real way.
The thing is that in islam, even adulterers are vicitims of the death penalty, or if they are not married some 200 lashes, im not sure, but its the same type of punishment. the post that you made about homosexuality being just like adultery, thats exactly right... murderers, rapists, and child molestors all get their heads chopped off. Thieves get one hand chopped off per offense. etc etc. and gay people get thrown of the highest point in the area. this last one is reminiscent to the punishment of the people of sodom. their whole town was picked up by gabriel and thrown upside down... I know the crusades have nothing to do with this time period, but its a fact of life, religions cause wars. almost every single war can be pointed back to a religious cause. Yes America has been accepting many many people of all types and sorts, i guess its just trying to make up for killing the natives, the whole slavery thing, and then ofcourse the persecution of the Japanese... but thats another story Al Fatihah, o what a wonderful organization, if i ever came face to face with one of them i would puch their lights out. They are a mockery of the Muslim religion, The supposed GAY muslims, Get one thing straight, if you are gay, you are not muslim.
Kicking a person out of Islam, Hmm, In the earlier times if a person did a crime but wasnt muslim the non muslims decided their fate, but if a muslim did a crime, the muslims took care of the punishment. that quote, well allah (swt) also creates rapists, murderers, child molestors, So is it not our prerogative to question them or condemn them. no offense taken jo mamma,
what if you steal 3 times? do they next chop off a leg of the ding-a-ling? no excuse for extermination of the indians. no excuse for slavery either, but keep in mind that muslims have enslaved as many as, if not more than america ever did. http://answering-islam.org.uk/Bailey/real_slave_master.html "Muslims began large-scale buying and selling of African slaves 600 years before Europeans did and continued to do so 100 years after. The highest volume of the slave trade was in the trans-Atlantic slave trade from 1451 to 1867. Fage estimates that there was a total of about 12 million slaves taken from west Africa to Europe and the Americas by "Christian" traders over those 4 centuries. Although the volume was never as high in the trans-Saharan and Red Sea slave trade, the longer time involved resulted in the same total number of slaves involved. The Arabs bought slaves in central, west and east Africa and sold them in North Africa, the Middle East and on the west coast of India. About 9 million slaves were involved in the trans-Saharan slave trade over the 10 centuries from 900 to 1880, and an additional 3 million slaves were taken across the Red Sea and the Indian Ocean over 11 centuries from 800 to 1900 - a total of 12 million. It is sad to discover that the Christian and Muslim slave traders found a ready market in which to buy slaves in all parts of Black Africa. Almost all them were captured and sold by African rulers and merchants. They found it more profitable to sell their enemies, criminals and debtors than to kill or imprison them. Even those rulers who first resisted trafficking in mankind later gave in to the great financial profits involved. We must conclude that there were three equally guilty partners in the crime of slavery: Pagan African rulers, Christian Europeans, and Muslim Arabs" the japaneese internment was wrong too, but the product of a very paranoid america after the sneak attack of pearl harbor. "get one thing straight" - pun intended? yall should make t-shirts with that slogan on it!
haha, i seriously didnt even mean that pun. its kinda hard to steal without both your hands, but i guess they go with a leg.
He will not enter paradise who behaveth ill to his slaves. The companions said, "O Apostle of God! Have you not told us, that there will be a great many slaves and orphans amongst your disciples?" He said, "Yes; then be kind to them as your own children, and give them to eat of what you eat yourselves. The slaves that say their prayers are your brothers." [The first call to prayer at the Quba mosque built by Prophet Muhammad was given in 622 by Bilal -- a black slave freed by the Prophet Slavery was not abolished by the Koran, but believers are constantly admonished to treat their slaves well. In case of illness a slave has to be looked after and well cared for. To manumit [free] a slave is higly meritorious; the slave can ransom himself by paying some of the money he has earned while conducting his own business. Only children of slaves or non-Muslim prisoners of war can become slaves, never a freeborn Muslim; therefore slavery is theoretically doomed to disappear with the expansion of Islam. The entire history of Islam proves that slaves could occupy any office, and many former military slaves, usually recruited from among the Central Asian Turks, became military leaders and often even rulers as in eastern Iran, India (the Slave Dynasty of Delhi), and medieval Egypt (the Mamluks) it should first be remarked that Islam has tolerated slavery but has never approved of it, and that all its teachings and prescriptions in this regard lead to its alleviation as far as possible in the short term, and, in the longer term, conduce to its progressive suppression. To abolish it would have been impossible in a world in which it was generally practiced by all the states which bordered on the new Muslim empire, and in which the idea of challenging the principle itself had not occurred to anyone. It was the custom to enslave prisoners of war -- when these were not simply massacred -- and the Islamic state would have put itself at a grave disadvantage vis-a-vis its enemies had it not reciprocated to some extent. By guaranteeing them humane treatment, and various possibilities of subsequently releasing themselves, it ensured that a good number of combatants in the opposing armies preferred captivity at the hands of Muslims to death on the field of battle. Additionally, slaves had the ability to enfranchise themselves at their own initiative, without waiting passively for the goodwill of their masters: the procedure known as mukataba allowed them to buy their own freedom with sums which they saved from their work, and which the state frequently augmented with advances -- a measure which the slaveowner had no right to oppose. In contrast to the situation under Roman law, slaves were not deprived of the legal ability to exercise their rights and to appeal to a judge against their masters in all cases of illegal treatment. Besides domestic slavery, which was generally imbued with a patriarchal character, there also existed a form of military slavery, which was frequently employed by princes in need of recruits, especially for their personal guards. This situation had the effect of conferring an often considerable influence and power on men of servile condition or origin, and some of these became the founders of great and illustrious dynasties such as the Tulunids and Mamlukes of Egypt.
Well, you can think that........but I think it was the Islamic conquest of the Indian Subcontinent...... <a HREF="http://www.nationmaster.com/encyclopedia/Islamic-invasions-of-India">Encyclopedia: Islamic invasions of India</a>
You would punch their lights out because why exactly? I thought Islam is the religion of peace? Who are you to say who is or who is not a true Muslim? Do you follow every single thing in the Koran?
i would also punch the lights out of any terrorist that I see, or anyone disgracing my religion. Anyone who does something that is AGAINST islam is a non muslim. I probably dont follow every single thing in the quran, but i try my hardest to do so, I dont rape, murder, drink alcohol, i pray, fast, go for pilgrimage, im not gay, i dont have premarital sexual relations, etc etc.
http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/04543c.htm the crusades were so bad that they had to split em up in 8 categories... 8
so you would only punch out the Muslim terrorist because he's disgracing your religion and not oh I dunno Because HE'S A TERRORIST? Can you at least see the difference between the two? Terrorists by defintion are a danger to society. You haven't proven that gay people are a similar threat.
i would also punch a christian terrorist, but the hatred towards a muslim one is greater, See, i would never harm a non muslim homosexual, but if some gay guy were to claim that he was muslim, we would be throwing bows. Are prostitutes threat to society? they too are condemned in the islamic religion? why does america put restrictions on them, how come they cant practice their sexuality, and their profession, is it a moral thing? I dont see anyone arguing that islam shouldn't harm prostitutes in muslim countries. Homosexuals and prostitutes and aldulterers are all inn the same group. Gays are not an immediate threat to society, but if they keep on goin at their pace and if they spread their ideology to others, reproduction of humans will cease.
thats the theory, who am i to know what can and will happen, but it sure is a possibility, is it not.
oh yeah....dontcha know that it is easy to convert people to a way of life that entails being discriminated against, spit on/beat/killed, and socially ostrasized? I still cant believe that there are people that honestly think that being gay is a learned behavior or is a decision that someone makes. the only decision that there can be for a gay person is whether or not to come out publicly.... IMO...the religions are being hypocritical to talk all this jazz about loving your fellow man...and yet they condemn gays to hell or worse.. the God I believe in is a understanding guy who doesnt jack with what you do in the bedroom.....follow his major commandments and try to live a good life...and he is happy. Its a real shame that his message got so srewed up a few years back...
I had a recent discusion on this BBS about keeping other religions out of Saudi Arabia because that is a special place for the Muslim World. With the imposition of <i>Sharia</i> law and other efforts to keep Saudi Arabia in line with the basics of Muslim beliefs, why aren't the religious police and the government as a whole taking stronger efforts to punish those who aren't following the <i>religion</i>? If the religion doesn't allow something, yet people do it.........then why aren't they punished? Would they be doing it if they had a fear of being punished? If punishment for theft can carry a penalty of hand amputation, then shouldn't the punishment for mistreating others be at least equally severe as amputation? In regards to Dubai, I agree that it happens there and other parts of the world. <a HREF="http://www.economist.com/cities/hotels/index.cfm?city_id=DUB">Dubai</a>
i still cant believe that there are people that honestly think that being gay isnt a learned behaviour or a decision that someone makes... its never been proven either way, so why is it so hard to believe that some ppl just wont accept homosexuality as natural.
There are plenty of religious police in Saudi Arabia, called Mutawwas. Its recently that the government has taken away many of their "powers". Earlier you used to see them shouting at men who weren't praying at the time of prayer, or at women who weren't covered up right, but nowadays its more layed back, infact there are many places where mutwwas arent allowed, namely american compounds and Malls/shopping complexes. If you mean why arent there policing about the terrorists ,well i have no answer, its kinda hard to fight against something that can be kept on the downlow so well. its like trying to remove all the weed and illegal drugs from america, its not an overnight thing.
nope. i can knock up a girl just as well as any next straight guy. if the world population ever goes below 1 billion I promise to do my part to save the species. Creating a child is not a big accomplishment (ask Shawn Kemp) Raising a child responsibly is.
