Long time visitor, 1st thread. I don't get why so many feel Tracy & Yao is not going to improve the team just because the current group is doing fine. Look at the Hornets they been playing great ball since Chris Paul gone down, then should they trade Chris Paul because he a ball hog that is killing the team. (point guard as leading scorer is a ball hog in my opinion, don't care about assist because it is misleading stat.) But I know the Hornets will be a much better team with Chris Paul as an facilator and creator rather than a scorer and I see both Yao & tracy being the same type of player and I see this rockets team will be even better with this type of player. Although they are playing above 500 ball this is just short term success in the long run we need an player of Tracy & Yao's caliber to get us to the main goal of an championship. It is like the stock market just because short term success is good while expectation is low people feel compel to disregard the fundalmentals of the world and act like they don't need jobs (or tracy & yao) and the world will be better off but it is only temporary and things will turn back to reality in short order.
OP good thread.. I think people's ideas both pro and anti TMac / Yao are pretty well stated in many threads around the boards, to answer your question. Still, I think you make a valid point. We all assume we know that they will make the team worse, but the synergy of the team's current work-in-progress style plus a star added in might be a great team. We just have no way of knowing. I don't mean to rag on you personally but when I create a thread I don't appreciate when people take little "fail" shots like this without offering much in return. Maybe you could explain why the thread sucks?
