All, I am looking for ideas for items for a silent auction for my daughter's elementary school in February (here in the Houston area). It's a long story how I got involved with this (wife) and I want to help make sure that the auction is successful. We have a long list of places to solicit and partner with, but I'd like to tap into the demographics here on Clutchfans. If you have any ideas for items that you would consider must-haves or know anyone that I could reach out to solicit items for donation, it would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance and please keep ideas G to PG rated as we are talking about a fundraiser for an elementary school.
club level rodeo tickets to a good show something autographed by a Houston Rocket, Astro, Texan, Oiler
If the school is even moderately affluent, try to discover what parents own vacation properties, and then see if they will donate a week or so at their vacation home. Can be a straight "gift of stay" or sometimes a family will host a vacation.......for instance, if they have a coastal home, they might host a weekend fishing event. These types of donations can rake in big bucks, and it can be human nature for some of these people to want to show off their places (meaning they are more likely to donate).
Wine baskets or wine cases always do well. I tend to think the companies that do the sports memorabilia have too high of starting bids an a lot of that stuff goes unsold.
local art. all about flexing at the charity events. id donate you a small piece of art, but you gonna have to pick up
I’d be willing to pick it up, if you’re kind enough to donate. Thanks to everyone whose given some ideas this far.
If there are any school programs where parking is difficult to find, auction off a couple of parking spots for the performance. Principal for a day goes well.
Parking spots always sell..........as well as front row/ reserved seating tickets for the performances.
