Green doesn’t have great handles either, but sure, that’s a better comparison or gripe. interesting that so many of you complain about lack of development time on the court yet are upset that Nix is allowed to develop. Bigs don’t typically get the same minutes in their careers as guards — and young bigs that aren’t light seem to get even less. I think we have unreasonable and irrational expectations. sure, SOME is questionable rotation choices. But a lot is circumstances. Sometimes it’s foul trouble. Sometimes it’s hot guys. Sometimes it’s players coming back and wanting to give them a little run to see where they’re at (eg. Bruno). Most often it’s probably just matchup decisions. Even if you don’t care abt winning. There are SO many things coaches have to consider.
Giannis came into the league significantly quicker and more athletic than Sengun. And I don’t recall when Giannis began getting PG or prime ball handling skills. I don’t recall it being his first 2 years. Is there are resource with position tracks that is publicly available?
Stats-wise, Alpi is tracking ahead of Giannis at the same age. https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/a/antetgi01.html
Al P will never be as good as Giannis. It’s great that he’s this good this early and I’m confident he’s going to be a good player in this league. But not a superstar. Not a Giannis. And apparently G didn’t start as PG till year 3, therefore you may not complain about Nix minutes compared to Sengun until next season
You know who else became a superstar and wasn't more athletic than Sengun? Tim Duncan Duncan played about 40 minutes per game at age 21.
In a vastly different era where the game was slower and bigs didn’t stretch out to perimeter regularly. A time when the inside game was a part of every team’s strategy, practically. And never did Tim Duncan bring the ball up, which was the context of the entire argument. Sengun could turn into a superstar, sure, but he won’t be the type who’s going to be regularly bringing the ball up the court ala point guard.
Don’t think we’ll ever see a game where Sengun only scores 2 points….so don’t get your hopes up on seeing this thread.
Now J-Kidd can see something, ‘You can handle the ball. You can make passes.’ I don’t want to curse, but (nods to imply) ‘(F–k) yeah, Coach. I can make passes. I can find the open guy.’ Not as well as I do right now, but I can do it. Be the point guard. ‘Oh, OK. I wasn’t expecting that, but I’ll go with it if you trust me that much.’ I’d rather be trusted than not trusted, right? So now I’m making plays. lol if yanis did it sengun can do it 3 TIMES BETTER in his first year at THE POINT
LOL THE ATHLETICISM IS A FOOLS GOLD its like thinking the taller the player the better....lolololol... do these people even ball?
remmeber when cp3 has beaten lebron in the playoffs playing on one hand not even shooting 3 pointers? dont turn your brain off when watching basktball....
Not only the next... But he's ahead of schedule .... LMAO.. These SOFs are relentless with their delusions ...
