Even when looking at % of total capacity, they are 7th worst in the NBA. Doesn't matter how you look at it, they are not a hot ticket at home, and they are not a hot ticket on the road.

I think I understand what you mean by stadium capacity being relevant. I initially saw it as if a stadium is not close to capacity, adding a couple thousand extra seats will not bring in more fans, because your market only is able to capture 16K people per game, I saw this as a fixed number, and not a certain % of the stadium. I'm not in this industry, but based on what you said I am assuming their marketing department has a minimum capacity goal and will price tickets and promos to hit a target %, which i can see your point if this is how they approach sales.

If they are targeting a minimum capacity percentage, then I think the only relevant metric would be inflation adjusted total ticket revenue growth or decline percentages for the same stadium. The reason being a marketing group dropping tickets to $5 to reach a capacity goal wouldn't display the same demand as a $25 ticket.

no one is claiming they are a hot ticket, but comparing them to Detroit, a team with a larger stadium, is incredibly disingenuous
