"Hell, give us Curry, he's gonna suck anyway, "
hahaha, I'll be laughing my ass of in when in 2004 Eddy will be like Shaq but with a jumpshot. This kid is big, wants to improve, and is more fundamentally sound than Shaq. You'll be surprised.
I hope you were being sarcastic.
I think we should get rid of SA, Langhi can play backup 2 just fine, the only worthwhile centers are Lafrentz and Marc Jackson. We cant get Lafrentz, and Marc Jackson might me a little overrated considering what team he was on. We should just try Cato out and see what happens. Maybe if the Rocks start him, he'll put forth some effort and get like 6 pts, 6 rebs, 1.5 blk

Cato had his chances at starting and achieved nothing.....I wish another team were stupid enough to actually want him.

At this point, the Rockets pay him to keep the bench in place.

Backup shooting guard could be Dan Langhi or Walt Williams. Dan Langhi when hot is like Vernon Maxwell-you don't stop him. Then if he's cold= he's alos like Maxwell. brick brick brick:D

    Eric,

minnesota has already come out and said that loren woods will be their starting center.

secondly, when did shandn andersn become a perimeter player? shandn is lawrence moten. remember him? from the 'cuse? you know, 6'5 guard who's better off posting little guards than shooting a jumper? bad ball handling skills, ya know? then again, you may not remember moten, since he's been out of the league for quite some time now. yea, he's been gone ever since the league found out he was a 2 guard with no "guard game." shandn's on the same, worn path.

as for minnesota and shandn, minnesota already has felipe lopez, who is just as good a defender as shandn, but more importantly - showed last season that he has developed the ability to hit a jumper. shandn has YET to display that ability.

considering the t-wolves are in the midwest division, they will be hanging on to all the bulk they have (albeit very little) unless it would be in exchange for a quality, impact player. the only package i could see the twolves going for is garrett and szczerbiak for an impact 3(moving kg to 4, and joe smith to backup 3/4) or an impact 4 (moving kg to 3, permanently and joe smith to backup 3/4).

we have no impact 3 or 4 to give up. don't even bother suggesting mo tay. maybe in another year or two, once eddie's ready (assuming he doesn't grow to "center" proportions, although i'm praying for it), but not just yet.

no deal with minnesota for the rockets, sorry.
    :(

win14me--I believe you are a little confused. The Rockets can't trade big money players with the trade exception to another team for cheaper guys. It works the other way around. The trade exception would allow the Rockets to take on more salary in exchange for less expensive players.

Example: S-&-T Shandon + trade exception to Miami for Eddie House (NBA minimum) - does NOT work

Example: S-&-T Cato + trade exception to Seattle for Vin Baker - WOULD work (not that I would ever condone such a move) :D

I must admit I am a bit confused about the trade exception. Especially since we just picked up a trade exception plus draft picks for Olajuwon. Maybe I just don't know all the facts (I really am not sure about how that one works still).

two teams we could trade SA to:

Jazz- they have alot of young talent and have publicly talked about wanting Shandon back. They have some good talent in Quincy Lewis and Jarron Collins. Another good prospect they have is Harold Jamison, who was lighting it up in the RMR.

Sonics-They lost 2 good SG in Patterson and E-mail in free agency this summer so they will want to fill the void they left. Jelani McCoy is the obvious choice, but I really like Brent Barry( 1 in 3pt. %) and would try to package a couple of players or possibly a trade exception to get both of them. SA and 4.5/5.1 t.exception for McCoy and Barry would be sweet.

yeah tozai, I was being VERY sarcastic

I think Curry is going to be pretty damn good, although I wont project him being better than Shaq until I see him play.

    AUSMUS HOMERS!!!

    sorry, multitasking.

anyway, if we sign Shandon for a bunch of cash it had better be for a s+t

Please, you have to be kidding. This guy would flash his badge and try to arrest the whole team. Plus, if they took him for a round of golf, he would punch them to the ground and spit on them. Not to mention that he could not make a free throw if his life depended on it. Probably the only player in the league I want less on this team than Cato (oh yes, there is also Quitten...I almost forgot...). :p

I still feel that the cat should come out of the bench and let shandon start at 2 spots. Man, correct me if I'm wrong but mobley has bad start on a game starting at 2. Besides no one in Rockets roster that is better defensive stopper than Shandon.

I'm sure Rudy T. knows what Shandon brings on the defensive end night after night.

Amen to that!! I would rather we use Cato and Collier than Officer Olden. He is your classic example of someone who's big and that's it. Sorta like a lean Thomas Hamilton...remember him, old Fat Albert?? Charles Jones, Caldwell Jones, Major Jones, Davy Jones, and even Casey Jones are better than Olden and they are respectively 3 guys all at least 45 years or older, a 5 foot British guy and a legendary railroad engineer who is now a corpse. :D

True defense wins games, but Anderson night in night out will not have consistent production offensively.

What about a sign and trade to the Spurs for Malik Rose?

Ted,I would be happy if we could get Malik Rose who can be a good defensive player for us,but he was injured at lot last year, and since the Spurs have picked up Stephen Jackson,Steve Smith and Bruce Bowen, they have no need for Anderson.
