what up what up. first of all rashard lewis is overrated. he is not worth the max, and isnt worth worrying over. Nachbar is basically Lewis.. just let Nachy play some. With Rashard here, he will just get into trouble with his old Elsik gang members haha.

this week on fox sports net: the story of rashard lewis : why i shouldve gone to college

p.s. lewis was hating on the rockets saying the Mavs have a better organization

just a thought, but could we get the clips in w/Odom? If we sent Rice and KT to LA, LA sends resigned Odom to Sea, Sea sends Lewis here? Sterling is going to need some cap relief when it comes time to sign their FAs to new deals, Seattle gets a great young 3 to replace Shard and we get Lewis and get rid of Rice's contract. Probably wouldnt work but makes a little sense.

Clippers drafted two power forwards. Maybe if they trade their picks for Miller or Davis.

For those of you who say Rashard isn't worth the max, well, that is true. But if we could get him for a Mo Taylor-ish contract....I'd do it.

I don't see how, and I expect Seattle to nudge up its offer any day now, but I'm bored, and a Yao Ming/Rashard Lewis/Steve Francis-maxed out kinda summer is a nice dream....a fluffy lavender cloud, gilded in sunlight....

My mentioning of Cuttino for Shard was simply to attempt realism. Instead of silly "lets trade who we don't want/ need for someone plenty of teams do need/ want"
We are not going to get rashard lewis for Collier, TMo, Rice, Cato, Moochie, or even MoT. Why would someone take on a contract they dont want just so a player that is leaving can get more money (unless you're the Rockets-- see Shandon for Rice)
To get something you have to give something. AND if I am not mistaken, WE CANNOT TRADE NACHBAR YET!! WE SIGNED HIM, SO WE HAVE TO WAIT. right?
Oh and NoBody is going to take on a huge contract like Rice, just so they can get an undersized (but hardworking (but undersized)) power forward on the cheap. If any of these idiotic trades discussed in this thread could actually come to fruition, believe me, no one would be happier than me.
Another thing, I don't know about you, but I've noticed that Doc and Popeye have been quite quiet about this subject. This says to me that something is in the works. It may not happen, but it's in the works.

    dare to be great.
Anyone except Eddie, Steve, and Ming... on the trading block. Even steven if the offer is right.

    mediocrity really sucks.

today's trivia: how many games did Cutino Mobley win for the Rockets when he was the go to guy (ie when steve was out)

    go rockets.

I think you guys are forgetting one more thing in regards to a sign & trade. Lewis is an Unrestricted Free Agent. If he feels he's getting shafted by the Sonics he could say screw Seattle, and screw Houston I'll just sign with Dallas. There's nothing Seattle or Houston could do to stop him. If he was a Restricted Free Agent then that would be a different story.

Cuttino isn't going anywhere. He stayed here for less money than he could have received in Toronto or Chicago. And he's already gonna be on billboards for the Rockets' new promotional campaign.

I don't know why all you fools are hating on Mobes, we are paying the guy nothing for what he does and he is one of the best second round prospects since joe dumars. Seattle probably would think about trading for him because he is still young and has a lot of baskets to make yet. Don't forget mobley wasn't demanding the max back when he signed his first extension and he averaged very similar stats to Rashard.

But! I have been living in Lugano Switzerland all summer as a counselor at a bording school (any TASIS alumni out there?) and I was able to see quite a few Benneton Traviso games and I have to say that Nachbar looks like a freaking stud. The guy is a high flyer and I can just see him on the end of so many alley oops that it makes me giddy. If we had walked away from this draft with just Nachbar we would be in great shape. We don't want to get like Portland used to be and load up on so much talent that we can't get any chemistry kickin.

    If we keep:

    Francis
    Mobley
    Nachbar
    Griffin
    Ming

as our starters of the future and still manage to hang onto Cato as a backup C/PF and Moochie as a backup PG and the guy I would like us to sign to back up Cat at SG is Dane Fife because of his defensive stopping capabilities (I loved him at IU) and we really will not need points from our backup SG with all our other scorers. It would be nice to have someone energetic and defensive minded to come off the bench and wear done the Kobes and Finleys of the league.

I agree. Mobley and Francis have incredible chemistry. Plus they are great friends. We should keep these two guys in Rockets uniforms their whole career. Griffin, Ming(although unproven), and Nachbar seem to be three of the most athletic and exciting players in the NBA right now. You can have all the talent in the world, but if the team doesn't have chemistry, then you won't win.

Anyways, Rashard injured his shoulder last year and it's still unknown if he'll need surgery or not. He's young and just worried about money. I would rather have a loyal team player than just another cocky Athlete with a huge ego. Rashard can take a hike.

On 610 today they were talking bout a sign and trade for mobley, straight up. it's something i would seriously consider, if there were any descent 2 guard f.a.s, but i don't think there are.

Yes, there is Bonzi Wells. He is a restricted FA, but i don't think that portland wants to resign him. He is bigger and stronger than Cuttino. And he would do a better job of the defending the the Bigger SG's in the league. So the Rockets could do a sign and trade for Lewis with Mobley and Rice, and perhaps KT if necessary. And then sign Bonzi to an offer sheet and hope the portland does not try to match.

    There is some risk involved.

Don't trade Mobley. Rockets don't have anyone they can trade that will work with the Sonics. That is going to become very clear.

Unless the GM for Seattle got dunk and didn't think straight, he won't take any of the big contracts the Rockets would like to dump (Rice, Kato, Mo-T). And even if he would, the BYC rule makes it next to impossible without a third team with cap space to make any trades work.

Lewis will be a Sonic later. You can bank on it. Rather Lewis can.

P.S. You don't trade your leading scorer and someone who signed for less money to stay. That is what Mobley is as of last year. He may not be leader scorer this year but he plays with heart and he tries (sometimes too heard).

And I stand on my prediction that Lewis will not sign for MCE in Houston.

"today's trivia: how many games did Cutino Mobley win for the Rockets when he was the go to guy (ie when steve was out)"

    And today's trivia:

Last season who had more talent around them? Shard or Mobes.

If the rockets were without MoT, Rice, and Francis and Seatle was only missing Booth and Baker? When exactly did Shard lead "his" team to victory without Payton "when he was the go to man"? Hmm Payton played 82 games last season....

IMHO your trivia wowming is totally BS

We need to keep MO Taylor, E.Griffin is not ready to start and Kenny Thomas is too small to start. So I don't we should include Taylor in a sign and trade.

I saw that Nachbar was compared to Peja on NBAdraft.net and I just don't see that comparison. He is way more athletic and is very explosive. A friend of mine had a tape of the Tascali cup semifinal game which BT lost to Kinder I got to see Nachbar before I knew that we drafted him. Even then, before I knew he was going to the NBA, the player he most reminded me off was corey maggette when he was at duke. He really caught my eye like maggette did back then because of the way they would penetrate and dunk like a knife through hot butter. Granted we are talking about Italian A league defense and not the NBA, and you don't see Maggette do that so much anymore in the bigs. But Nach is tall and strong and was actually playing the 4 for most of the game. He was a good rebounder and his shooting was typical of the european game: good form, good results.

When I found out that we would probably draft him at 15 in May I watched the tape again and really liked what I saw. I think the main comparison between him and Peja to be made will be the impact that they have on the NBA. Trust me Rudy is not really interested in Rashard and he is really high on Nachbar. It is like last year when we drafted EG - Rudy was like "I would have taken him at 1", well I get the feeling that had we had picks one and two again it would still have been Ming, Nachbar. He's a rudyballer.

How do you know Rashard was in a gang? Cause if he wasn't, that's unfair, man. EHS isn't that kind of school anyway. You oughta think before you judge someone or rush to conclusions.

    Anyways, a lineup of

    Francis, Norris
Mobley, Boki (wouldn't that be nice!)
    Lewis, Rice, Boki
    Griffin, Taylor, Lewis
    Ming, Cato, Griffin

    (give or take a player.)

That's a playoff team and beyond.

    talented player.
