Michael is a giant in this one.. Played by 6'8" Tyler Mane, or for the WCW nerds back in the day, 'Big Sky.' He was also Sabertooth in X-men!
They had LL cool j in Halloween H20. He lived but didn't really do anything. H20 was supposedly going to be the last, but then they did another after that, can't remember the name. It was horrible. The premise to that one was that some teens + tyra banks + busta rhymes decide to film an internet reality show from the house of Michael Myers on halloween. Of course they all die except busta and some white chick, and the "climax" of the movie is when busta whoops up on Myers with some crappy karate. Anyway, after seeing the previews many times, I'm actually interested in seeing this. I thought 1, 2, 4, and 6 were pretty good. 3, 5, and the last one were horribly bad. H20 was so-so.
ditto for me. The ONLY thing I liked about 1000 corpses was the effort in the makeup/special effects/gore stuff. I loathe most of the cgi crap out there. But everything else was crap and devils rejects looked like more of the same.
To follow up on what some people said about these 2 movies. They are both pretty horrid. 1000 corpses is like an Music Video remake of Texas Chainsaw massacre and other 70's horror movies. Devil's Rejects was better but still pretty terrible, instead of a straight horror movie its more like an 70's explotation kill rampage movie. Zombie does better than he did in his first movie but it's still a jumbled mess. By the way, the torrent that's out for the Halloween movie is a working copy. This was the completed movie before they, recently, went back to do reshoots and add as many as 6 more kills and remove some scenes.
Zombie answered this in an interview. He said because once Halloween is over people aren't thinking about it anymore. They move on to the other upcoming holidays. Smart move I think.
I read where this movie is getting ripped by critcs. Anyone seen it yet? And apprently the version I saw is a "work print" and a little different from what was released in the theatres.
20% approval rating over at Rotten Tomatoes. It doesn't look good. Zombie probably butchered it. I guess he should have done a cameo and been a victim.
I thought the movie was good, sure a lot of it seems like the original, but the first half of the movie was original and well done. I will say that this movie has a lot more blood and violence than most Halloween movies. I don't look at what critics say about a movie and just go with my instincts, far too often critics applauded boring movies. Hey if you don't want to pay, you can always check it out on the net
F the critics, watch the movie and come up with your own opinion. I liked this movie. Not really a remake like the titles says, more of a prequel but I'm pretty sure everyone knows that by now. Very entertaining and Rob Zombie does a good job of having that "Halloween" feel to it. Probably the 2nd best movie in the series, made me watch the first one again.
Slight spoiler Spoiler Many people have dogged the movie because Zombie almost tries to make Michael a sympathetic figure when he's actually a cold blooded heartless killer. After seeing it I'd have to say that is correct. You almost feel as if it's not his fault because of his horrible childhood. They also don't like the way his sister, the Jamie Lee Curtis character from the original, seems almost like an afterthought in this movie.
