Correct. He made a ton of money as Buffalo's DC and wasn't interested in a pay cut as I recall. It looks like Bo Davis, DL coach from Bama is in Austin to interview for the same job at Texas. Hopefully we can lock this guy down as well. Some of the sites are speculating that Bryan Harsin will be co-OC's with Major, and Teryl Austin will be announced as the new DC.
I thought it was Gray, but you're probably right. I'll be at the American Football Coaches Assn. conference this weekend and next week in Dallas. Maybe I'll get some breaking news while I'm there.
Given that the recruiting dead period is over and coaches can now start trying to steal recruits, wouldn't it make a whole lot of sense to announce these if that were the case? If it's Harsin, they could have announced it after their Bowl game well before Christmas. I don't see the benefit of waiting.
FWIW, the recruitocosm says they basically had Chryst as their guy, but he's going to go to the Cowboys instead once Garrett got that job today, so Harsin talks commenced anew. Granted could all be garbage. Who knows.

Can't say I paid any attention to Miss St's defense, ever. From the accounts I've heard, he runs his defense much like Muschamp. He'll change the look constantly from 3 man to 4 man fronts. There's no way to get a gauge on what's coming. Hopefully Chryst will accept, too.
The insiders are saying that Chryst has agreed to interview for the Pittsburgh job. Mack doesn't feel like waiting on Pitt's decision, so it appears he's moved on to his next target: Boise State's OC Brian Harsin is currently on an Austin-bound plane.
