Again, Title, I am not saying that Francis is being overhyped. The hype is just starting.

What I am saying is that IF YOU COMPARE ROOKIE SEASONS, Francis is getting more press in magazines, newspapers and television than what Kobe had DURING HIS ROOKIE YEAR. Actually, you can count the second year also. The hype started last year during year 3 and has gotten to the point where they are comparing him to MJ.

But, isn't comparing Francis to Isaiah Thomas a sin also? Or to Gary Payton? And many of us have posted here that he will be better than BOTH. We are talking about 2 players going to the hall here. Isn't that wrong to do that just like everyone comparing Kobe to MJ?

I am speaking more about NBC and the national media than the BBS. I will definately agree that our Stevie does get overhyped on our beloved BBS, but not in the national media. People do get carried away with the Isaiah and GP comparisons, but that should be expected here. But you have to admit that in the national media, Kobe is more overhyped than Francis; and I really don't see where Francis is overhyped in the national media. Has anyone from Houston ever been overhyped by the national media?

    Title,

Kobe wasn't nationally overhyped until year 3. Lets see Francis in year 3. He will be so damn good people will hate him getting those calls just like we hate Kobe getting them.

I think a lot of the reason Kobe is overhyped is because he plays for the Lakers. If he played for the Rockets, and the same things happened I don't know that he would be overhyped. With that said, I don't know how any Houston Rocket will ever be overhyped. Look at Hakeem. I hope that Stevie is so good after 3 years that people are hating him for getting those calls. Won't it be sweet!!!

Whoa, slow down a minute. I admit, Bryant is hailed as God by NBC and all national media. But if you're going to compare him to someone, don't choose Carter. If there is one player that NBC loves to talk about that doesn't play on the Lakers, Knicks, or Kings, it is ALWAYS Vince Carter. The guy is a good player-I don't doubt that. Personally, I too would rather see Kobe "loved" more than Carter. I can't stomach Carter, I don't quite know why. I liked him until everyone started believing he is the greatest thing to happen to the game of basketball. All these "Toronto fans" springing up everywhere doesn't help either.

    Title,

Hakeem doesn't jump around and chest bump or stares at players.

I didn't mind Jordan being hyped but the guy earned it like no other. You think he would of sat out a game in the finals with an ankle injury?
