Exactly. The kids are at fault because they shouldn't have been taunting, but I will never believe in a karma that suggests that the kids got what they deserved by dying. MEOWGI better hope that his taunting of a VY fan doesn't result in them killing him. Of course, that would just be karma at work, right?
I don't know. Obviously, we don't know the facts, but I can imagine seeing the kid on the fence dangling his foot over and watching the tiger leap for it in vain. The angrier the tiger gets, the funnier it is to the kids. And then the tiger has had enough and gets his will to get over the fence. It's sad, but the kids sound like they were being incredibly stupid.
well they were drunk and high. not a good combo. especially around a tiger. i wonder if they got drunk and high before they got to the zoo or in the zoo parking lot.
So you're in a bar talking to another bigger patron and you start making fun of rap and make a few bigoted slurs. He gets offended, starts arguing with you, you start to cower like a sniveling wimp, then he proceeds to beat the bloody pulp out of you, just because he sees you as what you are. And the rest of the bar laughs at you. Play with fire, you get burned...it's that simple. Spoiler The confinement of the tiger should not allow visitors to climb into the confinement nor the tiger able to climb out. I'll taunt a tiger all I want if I know there is a foot thick glass wall and it was 20 foot high. Otherwise, I'm going to the chimpanzee area.
I guarantee these idiots listened to rap music. We should also build a fence around the Grand Canyon too. It can be dangerous. You don't want wasted morons falling in.
I don't remember a story where something climbed out of the Grand Canyon and mauled a visitor. You have a link? Otherwise, the Grand Canyon wasn't built by man. It's been there, man decided to make it a tourist attraction, a few people fall over a cliff because of whatever. Who are you gonna blame, God? On the other hand, that zoo was built to confine animals and separate them from visitors. If a visitor can get in the confinement and the tiger can get out, someone made a gross miscalculation on that confinement logistics when it was built, nor did it seemed to be corrected. Your example would be like those guys drunk and stoned walking around in a wild forest and they were mauled by a tiger and made into cub sandwiches. That's after they saw it and started taunting it when there was nothing between them.
If I believed in karma, I probably wouldn't be a complete dick on a message board by constantly berating people who root for different teams than I do, believe in a different religion than I do, or listen to a different type of music than I do. That's just me though. And is it only instant karma you believe in?
The zoo is at fault here. The idiot guys are at fault here. It's really that simple. When you get drunk and high, you go see a laser light show, or watch a movie and eat cheetos. You don't go and taunt a tiger, regardless of how enclosed it is. I don't think the zoo should be "sued" if these "kids" really did what is now being claimed. I do think that many of the zoo management should be fired and never re-employed in a zoo setting. I do think the zoo needs to immediately fix their enclosure and check all other enclosures (as should all zoos everywhere). I do think it is as much of a travesty, if not more so, that the tiger had to be put down, as it is that someone got mauled, if they were taunting said tiger. I love going to the zoo. But when I do so, I have so much respect for the animals there. The aquarium creatures are so unique and colorful. The birds are so big, and look so smart when you look in their eyes. The seals make you laugh the way they seem to chase each other. The reptile exhibit gives you goosebumps, and makes you want to punch the idiots you are knocking on the glass. The majesty of the large animals - the tigers, lions, rhino's, elephants, giraffes....straight out of a safari. The monkeys, and especially the gorillas...whether you believe in evolution or not, there's something going on in those brains that is very similar to what's going on in your head, though on a different level. It's a fun time, and a good day, and I know even I probably do some stupid things occasionally. But I'm not taunting animals. Especially big ones. That can kill me.
I agree with most of this. Except that the tiger did have a history of attacking those who weren't taunting it.
1 person, who was trying to give a public feeding demonstration. no matter how long an animal has been in captivity it is still wild. ask sigfreud and roy.
Exactly. He/she didn't try to attack any of the thousands of visitors to the zoo until these rap listening, Christan, Titans fans showed up. They got exactly what they deserved.
Not to be insensitive, but that's occupational hazard. Goes with the territory when your job is to be around wild animals. I should know the dangers of taking a job testing nuclear weapons, or keeping dangerous or venomous animals as pets. Visitors should, however, be protected from the animals in a zoo and not be able to get into confinements (petting zoos notwithstanding).
So they deserve to have a tiger jump out of a poorly built confinement that was suppose to protect them from said animal and maul them? If they knew that tiger had a chance to jump out of its confinement, I'm thinking they would have been a bit more respectful towards it. Just like you in the bar facing a very large black man that you think has a good chance of liking rap, you prolly wouldn't make your usual comments about rap either. (But I'm making assumptions on both examples.)
If they piss off a tiger then they deserve for the tiger to get pissed at them. They set in motion a series of events with their willful actions. Kids playing with matches don't think they will start massive forest fires either. You never completely know what will happen. Don't assume anything.
