"Uh Duh I dink that Kenny Smith can still use some work on the defensive end of the court and you gotta watch out for the big fella and his dream shake and Moses can still hurt you eventhough he's almost 50 something and have you seen that little guy Calvin play in those long socks?" All in all this year's Rockets are so hard to read...I guess so you F_ _ _ ing idiot when you're clueless as to who even plays for the team this year. Let's hope that this guy's brothers and sisters and cousins are scouts for the other teams in the league...we'll have it made!
whatever lebron is overhyped in my book. call me ignorant.. but i don't think you can be labeled a number 1 all-around player and shoot as horrible as he does.
I dont quite remember, but did TMAC have back problems from the very start of the season last year, or did it take a while?
He had his best offseason of his career. Then, iirc, on opening night, he came down wrong and that started the whole mess that was last season.
right after the first game of the season he fell hard on his back in practice when going up for a dunk/layup and it stemmed from there
Thanks, now I remember it. Then who was the guy who bumped into Deke during practice. Was that also TMAC?
Ha, during the whole article I could hear Kerr's voice, all it needed was a comment about how sleepy T-Mac looks.
The Dallas game was more of an example of Yao being rusty and maybe Van Gundy playing around with lineups and strategy more than McGrady not knowing what to do when Yao has the ball. I'd say not to worry about this stuff until we see how McGrady works when Yao is 100% back.
Popovich: Say, what's the deal with the Rockets. I heard they are good this year. Scout: Nah, nothing to worry about. TMac is fluff with no substance. He and Yao just take turn having the ball back and forth. Pop: Really? I'm worried about Yao. He's done some damage late last season. Scout: I'd rather have Amare as my center. Coach, the league is moving away from traditional centers. Yao is obsolete. And he gets winded all the time anyways. Pop: Have they nailed down their backup PG yet? Scout: Not that I know of. They are still deciding whether to start Sura or Rafer. Jeff is tired of Rafer's dribble-between-the-legs, behind-the-back, break-people-down, And1-video type game he's been playing the last couple years. I'd say they'll probably start Sura and bring in JL3 to turn up the tempo. But they'd rather have Jacque Vaughn. . . Pop: Wow, that's good news. How about their new guys? Scout: Battier's the glue guy. They got a steal from that trade for sure. Got to watch out. He's their perimeter defensive stopper. When we play them, he'll probably be on Parker to stop his penetration. Pop: What about Bonzi? Scout: They got Bonzi cheap. That's huge for them. He's gonna play out of his mind because he is looking for a big fat contract next year. Bonzi reminds me of the old quote from Al McGuire: You can afford to have one donkey, but you can't have two because then they'll breed . . . hahaha . . . oh, not funny? Pop: How're they gonna use Juwan? Scout: Man, I love Juwan. Wish he's on our team. Classy guy. Real professional. I mean, he's one of the best tippers to the ballboys. How bad can a guy like that be? He's their most important asset. Pop: What else do you see? Scout: Oh yeah, they're gonna play Casey Jacobsen some. Gotta watch that guy. He's got smarts, toughness and the shooting they need. Put Bowen on him when he's on the floor or we'll get burned real bad. Pop: Great. Now how 'bout the Mavs. . .
See, this is what happens when you pay one of those term-paper outfits to write your scouting report. IMO, it's a comic masterpiece.
purely from layups my friend.. watch his shot selection and form and percentage of outside shots in his series vs. detroit.. it was horrendous to say the least.. and i'm not exaggerating.. watch it w/o bias
The league has to have it's "next MJ" and the Execs have passed the torch to Lebron even before his team won their first playoff game...now that they had a nice run last year, it makes everyone ant NBA central smile with glee and the talking heads have nominated him the best in the game. He is a great talent and there's no denying that fact and his game has no flaws as he can hit the outside shot even the 3-ball, dangerous on the blocks, from the corner, has mad handles and is a rebounding demon and makes his team better...all the elements of a star and his still a kid.
That scout is gonna make this an automatic title. The hell is he thinking?? Amare over Yao That's the worst example of scouting I ever read. Must be the same dude who gave out the 2k7 ratings, Yao(89) TMac(91), Wade(98) Chauncey(92), Amare(93). A damn shame. Juwan is a classy guy yes, but not really the most important asset to the frontcourt. And since when does Rafer use the right analog stick in NBA games!!??
Great expression! To be honest, there are some decent points in this report (and that of other teams), but other points are justs way off. It's as if the scout who wrote this didn't watch many of the Rockets games since 2004/2005. About Juwan... he has actually looked much better than I thought he would as a backup C. I know Brian Skinner and Dan Gadzuric are not All Stars, but they are big strong guys with legitimate NBA body/atheleticism and Juwan did not get overpowered. He even gets his hands on a steal every once a while and runs the fast break pretty well as a trailer.
No, he is significantly less productive, on either an efficiency or an aggregate basis, than the mean or median starting PF by any measure, despite the fact you wish to believe otherwise. Thankfully JVG seems to have realized this and has decided to play Battier & Hayes more, which leaves Juwan where he belongs: on the bench, where he won't hurt the team as much as when he's on the court.
