Have you actually seen or done a study for this? Or are you just speculating wildly? Logic has no bearing when talking about someone with mental health.

this is part of the reason why i didn't think it was incredibly smart for the Rockets to acquire him last year... Just because i didn't think that it was possible for him to focus on basketball after such a tragedy.

Wow. I am so sorry, but you are incredibly ignorant about this topic. If someone is wealthy, and seemingly has everything, and is STILL not happy due to their depression, that makes it even more likely that they will commit suicide. There are way more cases of suicide among the middle class and wealthy- way more.

That was a really brutal piece. It was hard to get all the way through it. I truly hope that Anderson continues to find the hope to move on, and that his story can convince someone, somewhere that hope is never lost.

he will come out stronger though... a team has to do research on the player's character.

He is going to miss a part of the season but is he worth it? I think yeah he is.

The article suggests that he is MOVING FORWARD with the memory of her.

"Moving on" would suggest he put her behind, out of his mind 99%

He says once he is able to date again, his new GF/Wife would have to deal with his love to Gia and what happened.

I think what he meant by misleading was, one could see it as him moving on from the team.

I saw the SI tweet of the story first, so I knew what it was about. I'm not sure if others felt mislead..

Who is "everyone"? Dweebs at ESPN and every other franchise desperate for a stretch 4 like Ryno?

Because let me tell you, everyone associated with the Pelicans franchise knew that was NOT going to happen. Not even close.

My cousin just killed himself last week. We suspect one of the reasons were his relationship with his father and the fam found some pretty disgusting texts from the father right before he committed. :(

    Tough read.

I just read this article after the Robert Swift article (by the same reporter) for the first time. Thought it would be good to bump this since he's now a Rocket and it'd be good to understand what he's been through as a fan. I hope he's been doing well and continues to find peace through basketball (especially by hitting a bunch of three's for us).
