Man, waiting for the trade deadline to come is like waiting for Christmas Day as a 9-year-old...

I'm anticipating a trade that's as big or bigger than the one that's currently being talked about involving NYK...

Personally I like the picks and Hill better. Miller, Salmons may make us better this year but not enough imo

Agreed, picks and young players is the only thing I want from this trade.

    posturing by daryl morey.

walsh asks for a first round pick from the rockets, DM says they dont need the knicks offer (true), walsh realizes that he on the other hand does NEED the rockets to take jeffries, done deal thursday morning.

That's probably just a bad choice of words. Rather than saying "signing a top free agent" it should have said "acquiring a top free agent". It's not a stretch to think that you could combine that $7M in cap space with another asset(s) to acquire a high priced players.

For example, a S&T with Scola resigned for a $7M starting salary could net you a player with a starting salary of $14M. You can make up your own combinations of players, but with that cap space you could take back $7M more than you send out. That give you quite a bit of flexibility to put together an appealing package for a team looking to move a star.

The odds of a FA outright signing with a team other than their own are slim. Most likely it will end up being a S&T (it's worth an extra $20 M in the value of the contract.). If we have that cap space and our current assets, then we can still be a player this summer.

Well, Minnesota and Chicago have been working on a deal that would look like Deng and Ty Thomas for Al Jefferson. What about working a 3 way deal with them?

Houston Trades: T-Mac, Brian Cook, Joey Dorsey, Future 1st round pick
Houston Receives: Al Jefferson, Brian Cardinal, Sergio Rodriguez, Kenny Thomas

Chicago Trades: Luol Deng, Tyrus Thomas, Jerome James
Chicago Receives: Tracy McGrady, Brian Cook, Houston future 1st round pick

Minnesota Trades: Al Jefferson, Brian Cardinal
Minnesota Receives: Luol Deng, Tyrus Thomas, Joey Dorsey

Sacramento Trades: Sergio Rodriguez, Kenny Thomas
    Sacramento Receives: Jerome James

Houston does it because they get rid of T-Mac and pick up a good big man in Al Jefferson. He will be a solid fill in at center for Yao for the rest of the season and will dominate next to him next season. Rodriguez gives the Rockets the 3rd PG they need. Kenny Thomas and Brian Cardinal give them expiring contracts.

Chicago does it because they pick up two expiring contracts in T-Mac and Brian Cook. T-Mac gives them a possible starter. It also allows them to get rid of the immature Tyrus Thomas, and get out of Luol Dengs 5yr contract. That gives them a ton of room to sign a top free agent like Dwayne Wade.

Minnesota does it because they've been interested in trading Jefferson so they could allow Love to get some more PT. It gives them a scorer that they need in Luol Deng and a young athletic post next to Love in Ty Thomas. That would actually be a very solid lineup in Flynn, Brewer, Deng, Thomas, Love.

Sacramento does it because they've been interested in getting a big man and Jerome James is 7-1. He hasn't really done anything this season but he also hasn't been given PT. If James doesn't play its really a wash because Thomas and Rodriguez dont play and Sacramento has been looking to trade both of them anyway.

    C: Jefferson/Hayes/Andersen
    PF: Scola/Landry/Cardinal/Thomas
    SF: Battier/Budinger
    SG: Ariza/Taylor
    PG: Brooks/Lowry/Rodriguez
    Inj: Ming

    Next season...
    C: Ming/Hayes/Andersen
    PF: Jefferson/Landry
    SF: Ariza/Battier
    SG: Johnson/Budinger/Taylor
    PG: Brooks/Lowry

Tmac big expiring contract for a bad contract(jeffries),bad pick(hill) and possibility switching picks. Not to mention NY gets cap space to sign whichever superstar it wants. Or lets get Chicagos trash too while were at it, hinrich, salmons, and miller. Dumbasses

Morey is just absolutely destroying Walsh. Throwing out false information left and right.

I remember last big trade we had, shipping Rafer out for Lowry. We didn't even hear about it only a few hours before it was finalized. We were speculating like crazy, based on false A'mare rumors.

I feel like everything has been leaked regarding the Rockets trade scenarios.. We haven't heard anything that substantiates this claim.. Has to be Morey wizardry.. he's just stirring the Pot.. Cauldron..

While I would like to have Noah on our team....if Chicago deems him 'untouchable' I don't even want to know what they think about Rose. Or the other 10-15 better C/PF's in the league.
