Cool. I like that Shane battier took the time to welcome him. I like that he wants to start this year and make Rookie of the Year. Aint gonna happen but it's great attitude.
Good, short read. Glad to see he's ready to prove himself. Nice of Shane to drop him a note. Summer League is gonna be fun!

He's no Rhodes Scholar, but he's smart enough and he works hard.. that's how he graduated in 3 years.
PatPat only has a 3.0 GPA, but took 18 credits every semester and 9 every summer, which shows that he knows not to waste energy chasing a higher GPA when his time was no doubt stretched between class and basketball. Such effiiciency with his efforts is reflected both on and off the court (see his TS%). Patrick Patterson is the human embodiment of Daryl Morey.
I'm pretty interested by his comments saying that he wants to start this year. I don't know if he's just trying to show initiative or if he's kinda casting scola and hill off to the side to say he's going to outwork them. Nothing wrong with either in my opinion. As long as he isnt being a little too confident, i seriously doubt it though.
Patterson hasn't had any experience in the NBA, yet. I bet he changes his mind. It's like playing in little league and your friend was a great baseball player. Then, when you got older and played against high school baseball teams, he really struggled. Then, you realized that your friend wasn't as good as you thought.
