Liking Dwight's attitude and what he was able to see while he was out; to make him realize how best to help the team get to Championship level of contending for title this playoff season.

Dude poke exactly the things I wanted to hear from him. very inspired talk

Now he needs to go out there and put this into action. Don't worry or don't get affected by those idiots like Shaq and Chuck saying he should dominate the offensive end and be a 28/15 guy

I'm really glad to hear that Howard is going to commit to team ball and work with Harden as the leader of the team. Great attitude and gives me hope as a Rockets' fan.

That said stuff like saying "ultimate sacrifice" is the kind of preposterous rhetoric that is heard too often in sports.

I'm glad I'm not the only one immature enough to laugh at the phrasing "ultimate sacrifice". He's going to, what, take a bullet for Harden?

Sidenote: SI has generally been one of the more positive media outlets towards the Rockets.

Great read. Wonder how Skip will turn this into a drama fest...

For professional basketball players who are considered "stars", giving up on offensive production(the only kind most writers and fans care about) *is* the ultimate sacrifice in that context.

I really shouldn't have to explain that. You guys are smarter than that.

Maybe now he'd be willing to run pick and rolls instead of his inefficient post ups.

We won't be beat if he keeps his word and protects the rim.

Oh, I'm well aware. It's just such dramatic movie-language to be using for "okay, I'll post up less."

That doesn't make it any less preposterous.

Plus knowing Howard's history, he's not a great offensive force, makes it even more silly. His greatness has been in defense and rebounding so for him to do defer to Harden on offense is hardly an ultimate sacrifice.

I'm actually fine with Dwight posting up if it's against some of the weaker 2nd team centers in the west. He can handle Stoudemire, Hawes, and Kaman just fine. Maybe even Splitter. Otherwise, he should work within the flow of the offense and allow DMo to post up against the other team's 2nd best post defender.

As I mentioned in the game thread a few nights ago....I'm interested to see the strategy teams will use in our pick and roll with D-Mo and Harden.

Option A) No one helps, Harden gets a lay up
Option B) D-Mo's man helps off to guard Harden, Harden slips a pass to D-Mo for a layup.
Option C) Howards man helps out, alley to Howard.

For people hollering for Harden to play the 1...I'm just not sure about it. If Harden is bringing the ball up the court, he doesn't get that running start off the screen as we do when our regular point guard passes it to D-Mo at the high post, allowing Harden to get a full head of steam, and force the action, not allowing him to get trapped off the pick and roll so easily if he were bringing up the ball.

But....enough rambling, back to the topic at hand once more. I don't mind at all if Howard gets some touches while Harden sits. But I'm glad he realizes this is James' team now. My word I can't wait to be able to rebound again...
