The truth is that we will never know what went wrong with T-Mac. I feel very saddened by what has transpired earlier this season but always looked at the Rockets state of affairs with a glimpse of hope. Perhaps T-Mac will be humbled by this experience and recover in a way that we never thought possible or perhaps he will become the next Steve Francis. That is something we will never know and only time will tell. Anyhow, I thought the article had some interesting quotes and wanted to "Gauge" your opinion (Do you like my pun?). Thank you all for your feedback.

I really hate it when these sports writers can't even get the simple facts right.

He got TWO NBA scoring titles, and his teams have earned home-court advantages TWICE, all against Utah. If you are writing for SI, can't you just spend a few minutes on Google and get the facts right?

Twice in his time in Houston he said that he had his best opportunity to win a championship (3 times if you count this year). Not to mention the "it's on me" b.s.

Get the f*** out of town you whiny, spoiled, $23 million a year waste of space.

Shame on you Rockets GM. Why couldn't you guys obtain Shaq or TD for our great Tmac so he can get a ring?

Yeah, to be honest every Rockets team has been cursed with injuries and TMac had bad team in Orlando.

Not to defend him, he irritates me sometimes with these kind of interviews.

Ironically, Yao showed up in game 7 against Dallas. But TMac didn't.

I thought Yao played relatively well in game 7 against Utah too (despite having a poor series against Utah overall). But TMac was absent in the 4th quarter of game 7 against Utah.

I think he meant his team in orlando and the team here in houston excluding this year. like, last year when Yao was injured and we had no ron artest or von wafer and brooks and scola were playing no where near as good as now. i think he meant THOSE teams.

TMac just isn't as good as he used to be.
His best year as a rocket was his first. His athleticism has declined greatly since then. Sure he probably could have done more to maintain it or he could have changed his game up a bit. Bottom line... the guy is 6'8-6'9 and can barely dunk now.

2005 was the year that TMac and Yao could have went all the way. Too bad Yao was still inexperienced at that point, the refs had a vendetta against him in those early years, and Sura went down.

let's just stop this now, while we are ahead. two different players at different positions being guarded by two different types of players. both players' success depends on the players around them. it's a team game. let's remember how well those AROUND them played too.

seriously, i never get the hate directed at tmac. he seems like a nice enough guy, pretty laid back. yes he has disappointed at times but many great players haven't win titles too. yao hasn't done much too.

the only thing i guess is a little more humility would improve his image among fans. for example, i like yao's reply when he was interviewed by aldridge after yesterday's big win, on why it seems the team is playing better after tmac went down. yao said everyone stepped up just like last yr when yao himself went down and the team knows there is a sense of urgency with playoffs looming. acknowledging his teammates and putting the team above himself

How is it that T-Mac's a nice guy? He ever takes responsibility for himself. He's never gotten past the first round because his teams have sucked. He kept the Rockets informed about his decision to have microfracture, it's Keith Jones' fault that the organization didn't know. He had Horace Grant tossed out of Orlando because Grant had the temerity to call him out about his lousy effort. There's rumors he did the same thing to Bonzi Wells.

    The guy's a dick.

    Poor Tmac

He needs to be the starting two guard and his team needs to be...

    1.CP3
    3.Lebron James
    4.Tim Duncan
    5.Dwight Howard
    --
    6.Kobe Bryant
    7.Deron Williams
    8.Kevin Durant
    9.Yao Ming
    10.Dirk Nowitzki

Then maybe he could have a team above average and win his ring.

To those who say we need a TMac to win a championship, their is no way we win with TMac this season even if he did not have the surgery. TMac is simply too old and beat up.

The more interesting question is: Is this Team (Yao + Artest + Scola + Landry + Lowery + Brooks) better than the Yao/McGrady team from the Dallas series and the first Utah series.

With a better contingent of role players, this team is better, Artest is not much less than TMac was a few years ago, the team plays more like a team offensively and is a better defensive team without TMac in the lineup.

The only problem is we are back to only two go to guys, so if either Artest or Yao goes down, we are done again.

Tmac is just a dumb guy. He's not a bad guy, but he constantly is always saying the wrong things because he is dumb. Of all the High school to pro players, he is maybe one of the dumbest. I figure if he had at least a year in college, he would learn a thing or to about not throwing teammates under the bus and taking responsibility.

    dont worry guys.

I hate it how he is clogging up 20+ million of our salary this season. If he played to his normal form, we'd be top 5 team in the nba.

but now it looks like we'll just let him expire and have massive cap room to spend in 2010.

and trade battier next trade deadline if we can get a good offer

Bonzi Wells is the last guy who should be criticizing anybody about effort or consistency (or fitness, teamwork, or shot selection for that matter.)

Okay enough with Tmac never had the team to get out of the first Round...

I was a Toronto Fan... before Tmac came into the league... so we knew how good he was even before the rest of the Nation found out about him....

if he didnt jump ship the last year of his 3 year contract... he would have tasted the 2nd round already... and maybe won a championship... since even though he screwed the team and the city... they went on to the conference finals...

(Vince Carter was a better player at the time)

he left to be the man... which is fine... I followed him to Orlando... where he quit on that team...

and I basically stuck up for him until our Game 7 Dallas game where he quit and sat down...because they were losing big...

this is game 7 where you lose you go home... not sit down and save energy for the next game

T-Mac alienating his fans and teammates is making it all the more easy for everyone involved to just cordon him off from the positive elements on the Rockets and leave him to his own devices. Kinda like granulomatous tissue of the lung in tuberculosis patients induced by Th1 CD4+ T cells acting upon macrophages to induce epithelioid histiocytes around the unkillable mycobacteria.

LOL my bad. Just had my Path final this week.

He's played 5 seasons in Houston and 3 of those were 50+ win teams. Since when is a 50+ team average?
