I actually think Harden is overrated. He totally disappeared against Miami.

He's a good player with some potential. But, he's touted as "so underrated " so often that he's starting to become overrated.

Harden is a good player but not worth max money in my opinion. Would be a very good addition.

He's 22 f***ing years old and he was playing against arguably the best perimeter defense in basketball.

Harden is EXTREMELY underrated. There's a good argument to be made that he just may be the 2nd best shooting guard in the NBA behind Wade.

Anyway why are we talking about Harden now? He's not going anywhere and this has nothing to do with the Rockets.

My sources tell me nobody knows anything about a trade and "insiders" will continue to spew this crap inbetween their breaks of covering Tim Tebows dental habits and favorite tv shows

if you saw the finals you would see that he easily cracked under pressuer whether he was guarded or open. Harden is like jamal crawford a couple years ago, overrated

Again: I think the refs were all over him in the Finals. The refs were probably told to keep an eye on Harden after his flopaholic ways in the WC Finals; and they wound up calling him for everything. Much like Yao when Cuban complained to the league office after those first two games against Dallas. At that point, the refs start looking for everything.

Watch that series again, tell me LeBron wasn't allowed to walk on water.

Is Harden worth the max? No. But someone'll pay him that much, or nearly.

I did watch the finals... what you're not understanding is that a lot of guys Harden's age are still in college playing in the college playoffs. Harden on the other hand, was playing in the NBA finals against the best perimeter D in the NBA. He has the upside to become the #1 shooting guard in the NBA within the next 5 years. We will just have to wait and see if he can reach it.

I would caution you to NEVER draw too many conclusions on the basis of one playoff series, by the way. It's too small of a sample and there are too many unknown factors that could have been going on--injuries, coaching problems, etc.

Also, to say Harden isn't worth the max he will be paid (which is not as much as Dwight Howard for example) is just silly. The NBA max vastly underpays superstars, that's why guys like Roy Hibbert get paid the max when it's a stretch to even say they are all star caliber.

If we're going to keep discussing this could a moderator please move it to the Dish and change the title to "How good is James Harden?" or something like that?

I was with you to the 2nd SG part. Kobe is the best SG in the NBA, no way in hell is Harden near Kobe's level.

Harden is A LOT more efficient than Crawford. Better handles and passing too.
