Aaron Brooks is not like Dwayne Wade.

Wade has ideal size for a two guard, but he's still has the physical tools and basketball sense to play point.

Brooks is small, even for a point guard, but his skill set and mentality are much better suited for shooting guard.

If you go back a little further, guys like Kevin Johnson, Dana Barros, and Mahmoud Adbul Rauf are much closer comparisons to Aaron Brooks. These guys might have played in a couple all stars games each, but were never perennial all stars or superstars. I think if you're hoping for Brooks to develop into a superstar, you're going to be disappointed. Not rooting against him. I'd love to see him exceed expectations.

Even though he hasn't been in the league all that long, he's not really a young player. He spent 4 years in college and did most of his development at Oregon. He can still improve, but he doesn't have a lot of untapped potential. He's basically our featured player on offense, so it's not like he's waiting for more of an opportunity to shine.

The salaries match up very well in this proposed deal. Raps are only around $12k under LT. So whatever deal they do they won't take on more than $12k.

Though the rumor does sound like an old one being rehashed.

calderon is way overrated, and would come off the bench behind lowry anyway... this trade is no good. Bosh is not what we need right now, though Bosh and Yao would be deadly

Anyone who wouldn't do this deal is stupid. Except of course, the Toronto GM. He is only stupid if he does do it.

Bosh is a no brainer but Calderon is tricky yet not a deal breaker. Jose plays NO "D" I mean NO "D" but he can shoot and create for others. I'd do it tomorrow if I could but highly doubt it considering the Raptors would lose their fans at the same time.

An impact scorer and distibutor, Brooks played with a 5' 6" PG in college. Of course he's not the traditional 6'6" guy like Wade and that short list.

He's put up what like 25 6 and 5 this month ? Now think about how much Aaron has improved since last playing with Yao. We were likely on our way to a title when Yao went down ...remember how big Brooks was, for he will be bigger now, as he has come a long way this year. Give him that space now and other teams can forget about it. That deep jumper is beyond even where it was in college and Aaron is finishing well.

KJ is an apt comparison in some ways with Aaron putting it off the glass and Johnson throwing it down........Aaron is a much better shooter IMO though.

I will say I see a little Tiny Archibald in him.

Bottom line. I'm saying let's forget about labeling hima 1 or 2.

He's a special player ....and ours.

But ....Aaron is a special player and

Wow there are bunch of you guys really high on Brooks.. I'm not sure what kool-aid your drinking but he's not near the talent level of other all-star point guards. What do they have the Brooks doesn't you say? How about the PG duty as a PG to find the open man and be a facilitator... His assist is pretty pathetic considering we put the ball in his hands a whole damn lot. If you present the deal of Bosh + Calderon for T-mac + Brooks 99% of fans across the USA would see this as a no brainer yet that 1% (mainly Houston biased fans) can't see the light.

I've said that the only way to get Bosh would be a T-mac+Landry+Brooks combination.. And even then Raptors would probably not do the deal..

Mcgrady/Lowry/Scola and pick for Bosh and Calderon. We'll be contenders, and better than LA with Yao coming back.

    Calderon/Brooks
    Ariza/Taylor
    Shane/Chase
    Bosh/Landry/Cook
    Yao/Hayes/Andersen/Dorsey

This only has about a 15.5% chance of happening. Basically those odds go up if you include New York. You basically have to knock over both teams interest and agenda. I think Chris Paul has better odds then this only because of the Superbowl.

In the next two years or so Bosh will become the best player at his position. Getting him is a no brainer if its an option.

I don't know if the Raptors know this but Bosh on their team next year has a very small chance. If they do then this is why this trade would go down. We make the trade only if Bosh accepts an extension.

Rockets have no chance that is why they were trading for him.

I agree, but I doubt this trade is true.
