    LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

Better then both Gasols??? get out of here

I hate to repeat myself because it seems I have a hidden agenda, but for me, right now, potentially, he is a poor mans Brook Lopez, skilled offensively, 15ppg (back to the basket vs face up player), but absolutely no defensive presence. Guys that don´t impose their presence on the defensive end are not true centers. Guys like Noah or Chandler are 20x more important for the teams they play in, compared to guys like Brook Lopez, even tho you can clearly see that BL is 1000000x more skilled.

Someone said earlier, this draft pick is about trading for D12.

If that doesn´t happen, we will trade for that 7th pick....

Absolutely. You let the team that you have a deal with pick your target player. If someone else picks up your guy, then the deal is off.

no no you guys don't get it. We will have Mchale, so every team will want to give us their lotto pick for Hill and other garbage. We could end up with the top 3 picks because everyone around the league consumes McHale's awesomeness.
    Lowry/irving
    Martin/lee
    Williams/budinger
    patterson/scola/hayes
    Kanter/yao/hayes/

Until they actually find someone to trade with them, it will be like every other year.

Kanter has a great back to the basket game. He is an absolute animal on the boards. He can shoot the 15-17 footer with ease also. He easily would have been the #1 pick this year had he been ruled eligible for Kentucky. They also would have won the national championship most likely.

He is better than both Gasols. Go watch tape on him. He's not your typical lazy slow big man. He is a workhorse.

You might want to re-read that post again. He said, "Kanter will end up being the best of both gasols in one person." He did not say better than both Gasols, he said the best of both in one. Meaning similar to Pau's post game and finesse, mixed with Marc's rebounding and toughness in the paint.

I'll admit, I haven't seen too much film of him on defense though. Almost every video I see, it's him scoring at will on some unfortunate soul.

^^^ Lol! I guess he's a big UnderTaker fan. If he gets drafted here, maybe he can meet him in person :)

I'm not about to get excited about this guy. Moving up into the top 5 picks in the draft is damn near impossible. It would take an Eddie Griffin-type deal, and I should think we've all learned our lesson there. The Rockets float stories about trying to move up every year, and every year they don't because the price is outrageous. A high lottery pick is a fanbase's only reward for suffering through a godawful losing season, and teams are reluctant to slap their fans in the face by trading it away unless they're CLEARLY winning the deal.

I know Morey is probably ready to take some real risks, but I don't see him giving up two first rounders plus next year's Knicks pick plus KMart plus whatever to get this Turk who could top out at Brooks Lopez's level.

I keep seeing the ridiculous Brook Lopez comparison when talking about Enes Kanter. Can Lopez step out and shoot threes? Kanter can.

Can Lopez run 21 minutes on a treadmill exercise beating out every player in the combine outside 4 other GUARDS? Kanter can.

Good to hear. It's ballsy and the type of guy you could potentially build your franchise around. It's a clear direction -- I like it.

That said, as others have already mentioned the elephant-in-room is the whole idea of us trying to this EVERY year. Everybody wants to move up. The deciding factor will likely be how highly valued these high picks in a "weak" draft are.

I could get behind a Patterson/Kanter frontline for the next ten years.

McHale/Dawson/Dream teaching them the ropes wouldn't hurt either.

I've heard a lot of crazy/outlandish comparisons in this thread from an athletic Yao Ming to Brook Lopez, Mehmet Okur, Cousins and the Gasols.

So I'll make my own comparison. LaMarcus Aldridge. Good size, quick, athletic, plays well with his back to the basket, can dribble a little bit, defense can be improved upon.

I'm all for trading up to grab this guy but I'd be worried about the Jazz taking him before us. He seems like the type of player the Jazz like and I could see them taking him and moving one of there other front court players in Okur or Jefferson for help at another position.

This kid Kanter is dedicated to the game. Not only did he stay in shape while being away from the game, but he also improved his english. Saying all of this makes me think that we will not get him. As i mentioned before, this is DeMarcus Cousins all over again.

How can you say a guy is dedicated to the game and staying in shape and then go on to compare him to DeMarcus Cousins? Their games really aren't even that similar at all.

Not comparing him to Cousins. I'm comparing the chase for the pick to the Cousins chase last year.
