Kidd's divorce petition, if anybody cares: http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/years/2007/0110071jasonkidd1.html
That's easy to prove, but not very important. More important -- but harder -- is demonstrating physical and emotional abuse of him and his children. Also, I thought it was interesting that the complaint describes all theses 'psycho' things she was doing because she thought Kidd was cheating on her, skating dangerously close to the subject of his own infidelity. If he was cheating, that won't look good either, and might discount some emotional abuse he claims to have received. In any case, it looks like this will get ugly. I think it's a shame it'll all be reported in the papers.
Kidd's wife responds to restraining order in kind TRENTON, N.J. -- The wife of New Jersey Nets star Jason Kidd has filed her own domestic-violence restraining order, less than a week after the point guard accused her of beating him and extreme cruelty. "There was a lot, a lot of physical violence," Joumana Kidd's attorney, Raoul Felder, said in Saturday's New York Post. Felder said that Joumana Kidd asked the court for the restraining order on Friday. On Monday night, police served Joumana Kidd with a restraining order obtained by her husband. On Tuesday, the 33-year-old NBA star filed for divorce from his wife of 10 years, citing "extreme cruelty" and saying that he was an abused spouse. Under the protection order filed by Jason Kidd, he must pick up his children curbside for visits so that Joumana does not violate the order, attorneys said. The Kidds, married in 1997, were involved in a domestic violence matter six years ago when he played for the Phoenix Suns. In that incident, Jason Kidd was arrested in January 2001 after Joumana told police he slapped her in the face during an argument about feeding their son, who is now 8. The couple also have 4-year-old twin daughters. Kidd pleaded guilty to spousal abuse, was fined $200 and ordered to take anger-management training. In the dissolution papers Kidd filed Tuesday, however, he painted a detailed portrait of Joumana Kidd as a vitriolic, jealous and paranoid wife who suspected her husband was cheating and who was prone to public outbursts and threats. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2730097 Getting ugly. I feel sorry for their kids.
This gets better. Remember all those rumors of RJ being gay? http://www.nj.com/nets/ledger/index.ssf?/base/sports-0/1168839424171350.xml&coll=1&thispage=3 Must be the new fad for wives divorcing rich atheletes, claim they're gay or that someone they work with is gay [Michael Strahan's wife did the same thing].
Had to bump this hot pic of her...But, as always, it doesn't matter how hot she is if she's f'n nuts... I'm sure he's no saint, and I'm sure this divorce will be ugly...

omg, I still dont understand that a woman this cute could be so cruel... but I gotta believe it because JKidd is my 2nd fav. player after Tmac.. btw, I was watching PTI today and they were doing the little "odds" thing. so they were talking about the chance of Nets trading JKidd.. Tony gave it 85% and he said the divorce thing will distract his teammates because he will keep talking about it. the first team he mentioned as a possibility is the Rockets!! how scary would it be if we get him? I would give up or 3 player combination for him. something like Bonzi/Head or Snyder/Head/JL3. Kidd would give us all we need at the 1 and he is willing to give up the ball. I would keep Rafer because he would be good off the bench and his shot has been falling in the last 2 games. imagine this starting lineup: Kidd Mac Bonz Batt Yao SCARY!! we would have 3 starters at the allstar game in Mac, Kidd, and Yao. and the coaches can select Bonz and Batt if they play well.. but I know this is not happening!
This is so weird to me. I've met both Joumana and Jason Kidd. Joumana on several occasions. I once saved Joumana from a bunch of eastern european sleaze bags hitting on her in the lobby of the Ritz Carlton in Phoenix at like 2 am by telling them "Excuse me gentlemen, but the lady is waiting for her husband who will arrive any minute.... with a bus load of seven foot tall men." Those guys booked it quick. They even thanked me for the warning. But yeah, they both seemed so nice. Obviously you can't really get to know people in a few minutes of interaction, but it's just strange when people seem so perfect and then you learn that things are so bad with them. And regardless of who is telling the truth or who is telling more truth, they obviously had a very unhealthy relationship and probably both of them are pretty emotionally unhealthy people. I mean, no matter who is telling the truth, the other was obviously willing to suffer the abuse for a very, very long time. Bad business.
I worked for a company called Sports Travel Plus at the time. They handle the travel arrangements for about half of the NBA. I was in Phoenix seeing to their arrangements at the Ritz-Carlton and waiting in the lobby for the team to arrive when a group of about half a dozen drunken eastern Europeans came in and cornered Joumana and another players wife or girlfriend. Not sure who she was. Nobody from the Hotel staff could see it from the desk so I had to come to their rescue. Hopefully that explains?
