Someone needs to inform that Florida newspaper reporter that Maxwell did NOTHING to help the Rockets win the title in 1995... in fact, he quit. Some people remember the facts. And facts are, Maxwell walked out when the team could have used him on the BENCH during the playoffs. THE BENCH that he'd been relegated to by the only title winning coach in the HISTORY of the franchise, seeing that he was NOT starter material given the then-current roster. Sorry, but the only help he gave the team in the '95 playoffs was an indirect, totally unintentional, calm created by his absence. His "helter skelter" ways may have actually been a detriment to the team's chances... credit him with quitting, and by that act, unwittingly causing an even better story line... but don't credit it as "helping." And of course he's going to say when interviewed that he'll always be fond of Houston. He got a ring there. Duh. We get it. Let's put it in red letters a la Jesu Cristo. By the way, I think I've figured out why Maxwell is so "Mad" - tinman has been observed, from here in fact, camped out in his rear. That's gotta hurt.

Absolutely it would. Not that my opinion on it is that low to begin with I tend to be as fathers rights as anyone (and I'm not even a father yet). The kids mom could be constantly feeding the lines into his head how Max aint no damn good, he's a deadbeat ass, etc, and got the kid all worked up and fighting for his (and her) behalf for the extra dough. It happens Like the Matt Leinart situation; him voluntarily sending plenty money toward his child, making visits, buying his EX girlfriend a car, doing way more than the average guy would do. But she still took him to court to get as high a dollar amount as she could get His kid is still a little baby not college age, and some of it is about the mothers getting the payments secured in contract form instead of off the record contributions she doesnt know if she'll get or not. Thats either being smart about it or being gold digger depending how you look at it... But when you have several baby mommas needing almost 2 hands to count them up, whether the character of the person is bad or good its just a situation inviting complications and problems, no matter how you slice it...Defense is more difficult for someone that shows they cant learn or dont even care to learn. It could be Kenny Smith or Mario Elie instead of Maxwell. It doesnt make someone not providing a scumbag automatically, just unfortunately dumb.

tinman, I think few people here actually hate Mad Max. The issues some people have with you is that you don't seem to be capable of understanding the difference between heroes in a game and heroes in real life. And whoever don't think Vernon is a hero in real life seem to be disqualified as a REAL Rockets fan in your book. And yes, he did quit on the team. That's a Rockets fact, not an opinion. But you and other people can interpret it whatever they want. Those are opinions.
