    Kind of an ignorant article.

As if Shane was chopped liver or something.

And he continually referred to TMAC being "entrenched" at the small forward position when he has spent the majority of the time at shooting guard.

    And he misspelled Greene's name.

That was a terrible article. "the Rockets now have a premier defender to match up against Kobe Bryant, Manu Ginobili, Peja Stojakovic and Carmelo Anthony in the Western Conference." Right. What was Shane Battier then?

I also don't understand the sentiment that this deal makes the Rockets a contender. The team that was in the running for the best record in the conference without their best player (Yao) wasn't already a contender? This deal makes us quite possibly the early favorite, not just a contender.

And he called TMac a terrible defender.

But even lousy writing is fun to read if it is about the Rockets.

Mannix is an okay writer but this article stinks. It just reads like a deadline rush where the news broke and he had to get something out on it.

Regardless, I'm stoked! Especially since it appears that we got Artest without even having to touch our starting line-up!

totally agree... i thought we were for sure contenders going into the season with a re-signed landry, brent barry, and a healthy yao. this didn't make us contenders, this makes other contenders wet themselves...

I don't think this makes us THE favorite, but we are arguably the favorite, along with Boston, LA... depends on what other teams do.

Hey, we were worried about LA getting Artest, remember!

    (orgasm).
