for the bakcup center/PF position I want the Rox to look at the ff. players: Magloire, Petro or Collison of the Sonics, Ely for the backup PG: Duhon, Atkins watcha think guys?
Wells will be the missing piece for the rockets to get out of the 1st round playoffs this season... please dont trade him..........
Forget P.J. Brown for Bonzi. We can't afford to lose out a power guard like him. Snyder isn't fit and Head can't be left as the lone 2 guard. V Span isn't ready for the job.
Magloire makes way too much ($8 mill.) to even match salaries and Seattle wouldn't even want what the Rockets would give up to equal it. Petro is young and very raw. Seattle is not just going to trade him away for nothing and what makes you think JVG is going to play someone with that lack of consistency. Again, why would they trade Collison and you think they would want anything the Rockets are OK with trading away? If the Rockets wanted Ely he would be wearing red and silver already. But, he lacks any kind of defensive presence and doesn't rebound very well either. He is just an above average athlete that happens to be big enough to play the 4 or 5. They only way Chicago trades Duhon is if he is part of some deal to bring in a allstar-calibur front court player (Gasol, Garnett, etc). If you are looking for front court help, you don't need anything special. Just someone who can play spot minutes until Yao gets back and will not hurt you that much in defense and rebounding. Prefferably a veteran who knows how to contribute in the spare minutes he will get and is willing to take a big back seat once the team is at full strength. I'd look at more along the lines of a Malik Allen or Dale Davis.
Snyder hasn't showed us anything since the first two games of the season. I'm all about trying to remain optimistic here but the kid couldn't shoot before he broke his shooting hand and now he's recording "DNP - Coach's Decision's" like it's his job. We got him for next to nothing so anything positive he can contribute is all that much sweeter but let's not get ridiculous and just assume that an unproven player like Snyder could so easily fill the void of a proven game changer like Wells.
I dont think DaDakota really knows what he is talking about. I think he likes to root for the underdog, hence his strange fascination with players like Langhi, Nachbar, Spanoulis, and now Snyder.
Why wouldn't Bonzi fit in with a team with Yao? Doesn't mean he'll be on the floor at the same time as Yao. I think he provides that "energy" you believe we lack off the bench DaDa. I think his style of play is what we need in the playoffs. He has a great feel for the ball around the basket. When he finally rounds up into shape he's easily our second best post player.
Find a way to move Sura, but not Bonzi. I still think Bonzi will excel once he gets into game shape. Move JL3, Sura, and Vspan.. keep everyone else.
Hells no Bouncy is infinitely better than PJ. Don't trade for a player just so he fills a hole at the 4 while ignoring the fact he completely sucks. Then you're just going through the motions instead of really looking at what we need.
I wish we could come up with something to get Thabo / Safo. I do not thinnk we have anything Chicago wants. I would like to keep Bonzi, but for the right deal... Any of those guys could have been special with the right support and nurturing IMHO. On first glance at Langhi in summer league I thought we had the 2nd coming of Reggie Miller the way the guy moved without the ball. I was wrong. Nachbar has proven he is a viable player in this league. I like rooting for the underdog. Learn something from DaDakota Sir. Go Rockets! __________________
