Duncan, Mourning, and Ewing have been on the wrong end of many posters, because they tried to block the dunk. So if Yao gets dunked on a few times, even though he averages 1.9 bpg for his career, it's a big deal? Moron. Plus using Yi to bash Yao in the same sentence is just stupid. They aren't the same player. It's obvious what you're getting at since they have basically one thing in common.
Rocket homers' way of looking at all of the facials taken by Yao. I like Yao and love the Rockets; but I wouldn't mellow the truth that Yao does get the horrid end of plays at times. Yao getting blocked by Nate Robinson went top 3 in the plays of the year in NBA TV, FYI.
You know that the Chinese posters here will probably also be posting there.. (PS. Post contains no derogatory message to Chinese people.)
In contrast with internet keyboard warriors' way of looking at the same thing. (PS. Post contains no derogatory message to Dei)
I understand that. But why you would also bring it up in every chance and even use unrelated incidents to diss him is beyond me. What he is doing is not the same as 'mellowing the truth'. Can you see the difference there? Let me know if you need further help.
Vince Carter absolutely SH*T on Zo, he absolutely SH*T on Duncan. Lebron crumpled Duncan to the floor. Jordan posterized Ewing several memorable times, and Ewing was once blocked by Muggsy Bogues. Hell, even Boki Nachbar has posterized Duncan once. Shaq has posterized all three of these guys. Do you think Spurs, Heat, or Knicks fans repeatedly bring up the fact that their star center has been posterized? No, I didn't think so? All centers get on the bad end of posters, except Shaq, who steps aside and lets people dunk. For all the credit Russell gets he got owned by Chamberlain many, many times.
You guys have to realize that he's been in America for less than a week! LESS THAN A WEEK! That is not nearly enough to recover from the jet lag. There is a 12 hour difference between Milwaukee and China. There is NO WAY for him to preform in peak condition after that long of a flight and that much time difference.
Yao also got drilled in the face on that play and no foul was called. If that block had halfway been clean, it should be a highlight because of the novelty of a player blocking the shot of another player 2 feet taller. But the almost flagrant contact to Yao's face is what I remember more about that play than the block itself. The referees should be ashamed of themselves. Nate Robinson was out of control. Aaron Brook's clean block (with his elbow) of Brandon Bass' dunk attempt during summer league is what should be on highlight reels.
look, i've defended yao (use search function, if you must). he's an awesome player, the best on our team. possibly an mvp this year. doesn't mean i don't see his faults. minor and insignificant as those faults are, they are anti-highlight worthy and attract ttention, so i don't see the harm in ribbing him about it. if he were my friend, i would rib him about it to his face, lightheartedly. as the best player of the rocksts, i consider him as a "virtual" friend, so i think i can "virtually" rib him. if your skin is too thin for that, i'm sorry. (not really)
I think I pissed you off and touched a nerve of you last night when I responded to your first post in this thread. No?
You can not make a judgement on a rookie even after one or two years let alone after just a few preseason games. We will discuss how good Yi is after this year or next. To try and say one way or another is just stupid.
You still don't get it. What you said in the above post is not the same as how you try to show him up with every chance, even an unrelated incident. You can make up whatever reason that you like now to justify the dumbness. But the truth is that what you have done is lame. You are the one whose skin is too thin to take criticisms from the other posters here.
what a way to ruin a thread. it was an interesting discussion until our own Yao was drawn into it because some people have orgasm from facials. why? is it because both Yao and Yi are asians? how much more moronic can some people get? *sigh*
Is there any other reason? Yao and Yi have exactly one thing in common. Seriously, all great centers have been on the wrong end of memorable posters. I listed Ewing, Duncan, and Mourning, but only because those are the only ones I can remember off hand. Hell the greatest defensive center ever, Bill Russell, got posterized by Chamberlain many, many times. Nobody makes fun of Ewing, Duncan, or Mourning for getting posterized; heck Ewing even got blocked by Muggsy Bogues and nobody mentions it ever when talking about Ewing.
Uhh, you called me a moron and an idiot for a post not even remotely directed at you. You "touched" a nerve like a jackhammer "touches" concrete. You're the idiot. Or maybe you just have short term memory disorder, in which case I apologize for calling you an idiot. Oh, and
So? Why should I care if Spurs, Heat, or Knicks fans don't "repeatedly bring up the fact that their star center has been posterized." Fact of the matter is that Yao gets his share of bad end of plays. Is it taboo to speak about that? Guess I'm not nobody then...
