The thing about it is in order to be on the playoff he has to be signed this week asap.

Just saying get it done if you want him on the playoff roster. I would put it to a 4yr with options on the last two years

I have a feeling they wouldn't offer him this if they aren't high on his health. Although, as others said, this could be just as much, if not more, about next year as well.

Does this mean Yordan has a serious injury?

It means the offense is mediocre and in need of improvement. Yordan is playing Friday.

I think it means acknowledging they need better hitting.

Unfortunately, just like the Mancini trade was more about Brantley than fixing 1B or CF, I think this is more about Yordan than fixing CF..
CF is gonna remain a black hole with either Dubon sucking or mccormick being ok at plate and ok in field…

What’s the big deal about this guy? He hit .232 in 125 games last season.

Y'all really expecting someone recovering from major surgery to have a significant impact this season? Great if he does but this may be more about next season.

Boras leaked this to get a better offer. He'll probably resign with the Mets. We're not getting him.

Definitely a couple years removed from what would be considered good, not great, hitting statistics, but if the move hits it’s still an improvement at that position

The big deal is he is a former all star with a career OPS of .824 and a WAR of 15+ in 7 seasons. The guy is a star who probably was playing through an injury last season, which led to a subpar season for him.

To put that in perspective, an .824 OPS would rank 25th in the MLB this season, comparable to Bregman. Altuve OPS is .888, Alvarez is 3rd in MLB at .995

It means we don’t sign Brantley next year

Kinda how I feel with how Boras operates. Will be cool if he signs but not completely expecting it.

I was gonna say he is almost a left handed Bregman.
