You mention the name Yao Ming to every GM in the league and they'll hear Cha ching cha ching! Dollars sign.

    i'm all for shopping yao
face it, this is his 8th yr in the league. he's never going to get the benefit of the doubt from the official and will always seem soft because of that
given his high economic value, i do believe we can get something done and significantly improve our ballclub

    i'll leave that to morey
but a yao ming will def get us a superstar or some great pieces in return
i mean, everyone will be sad to see him go
but its not like he's 22 anymore, and he will never ever be effective in this league given how poorly he's officiated.
its just the sad sad truth

that tells me you have no clue to come up with a realistic good trade for us.

ask morey? he's said yao is the only untouchable. maybe that's just pr crap...

this is not a trade board and i'm not interested in bringing up names so we can keep going back and forth..
i'm just saying i think trading yao would be a good idea.
    1. he's not getting any younger
    2. has a history of leg/foot problems, which means he could be breaking down soon,
    3. plays soft, partly due to the poor officiating.

given yao's value RIGHT NOW, i'd def look and see what i can get for him

yes, anyone is trade-able, technically. the key is what we get in return and whether it's realistic.

i'm just commenting on this thread
which says "team may shop yao"
and i think its a good idea, thou i doubt it'll happen

now if somehow he's traded, we'll be getting something greater/atleast equal value in return. in morey we trust, dont we? :D

I'll maybe give you #2. But even with that ROX will NOT trade Yao.
Basketball is a business. Les Alexander is a business man. Drafting Yao Ming is the greatest business decision he's ever made.

Yao is the best pure center in the league right now hands down.

When it all comes down to is....
If it don't make dollars, it dont make sense.

I'm sorry but I've lost faith in all major sports media outlets. Stay local.

Sigh, I just could not finish your thread. You just donot understand the fact yao will not be shopped by les ever. This is not about if yao may bring Houston one trophy (OR LET's SAY TWO), this is all about money, about businesses. DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY REAL ESTATES LES OWNED IN CHINA? :)

Funny it's coming from a GM from the East. Hmm, I am pretty sure he has no intention of trying to get Yao for a bag of chips. Morey is not that dumb though, nor is Adelman.

No matter where Yao goes they are gonna double and triple team him. That has nothing to do with the coach. Maybe we need to replace the other teams coach.

I think all general managers say one thing then do something else. You have to remember it is a business so anything can go. Les is in love with McGrady and Morey is in love with Yao. Either one of them can go. Maybe even both.

I don't think he plays soft because of officiating. He plays soft because that's just his game. Yao is a finesse player and will play soft. Look at Pau Gasol. He has almost the same type of game has Yao and he gets bashed at for playing soft.

Yao is not even soft, can he play soft? Yes, but he's not soft.

Every player in the league plays soft, Yao is just accused of being soft more because he's not from America.

If anybody wants to take a look at soft take a look at Mr. Rupal a.k.a Chris Bosh.
