it's too bad it's taken over a year for Kedwards to recognize that the war on terror is serious business. it's a little hard to take their death-bed cofession seriously.
one positive for edwards: he's mentioned kerrys many more times than cheney has mentioned bush. in fact, i''m not sure if cheney has mentioned bush yet. not sure how that will play, but cheney is much more focused on kerry, than on bush.
I think Edwards seems more nervous than Cheney. He just kind of forced that More of the same line rather than let it come out naturally. Superficially I give the edge to Cheney so far, but it's still fairly close. I just think Cheney has more presence at this debate so far.
Exactly. Cheney lies like a rug and understands perfectly that the voters he seeks will never know the difference.
Cheney is so much better at this than his 'boss' ~ Edwards is definitely holding his own though IMHO.
Edwards: 90% of the Coalition casualties are American lives... Cheney: That's not true, you lie! Iraqis are dying too! Edwards: Once again, I'm talking about the Coalition casualities, which is in stark contrast to Desert Storm. Cheney: You insult the Iraqi people! You are not a uniter, you're a divider! How can you demean the Iraqis like this!!! Edwards: Um, I'm talking about the Coalition casualities, stop changing the subject...
"he's lying" "no, he's lying" "you said" "no, you said" It's like watching two little kids fighting in the playground.
I guess since Edwards keeps starting off saying "here is what is happening"...that we should believe him. Also, I guess we don't have to guess what the SNL opener is this weekend ?
I can't say if either of these guys are telling the full truth on things or not, but I'm shocked that Cheney seems to be coming off as the likable one of these two.
And did Edwards answer the question on how to spend/"minimal" taxing vs. deficit reduction? Neither of these guys directly answer a question. It's not just Cheney.
"The first time I met you was when you walked on this stage tonight." Whether you are a dem or a repub, you have to admit....that was a stinger.
Well, somebody is lying obviously... but it's not called lying in politics, its called "spin" It was already pointed out that Cheney was lying when he said that he never associated Saddam with al queda. But there are a lot of facts being thrown out there that contradict each other, a civillian can't figure these things out.... I just hope the newspapers sort them out tommorow.
