Yeah this season is weak, but I have really enjoyed this show, so I'm still into it. Pretty apparent that the show had about 5-6 seasons of good ideas and then Showtime forced them into an 8 season show.
I honestly didn't care who died or lived enough to make any guesses or spend any time thinking about it. Some woman that they introduced this season of the show died? Uh, ok. Riveting. Outside of the show being Bob Newhart's dream within a dream, there's no ending that would surprise me or that I would care about.
The julia stiles season seemed like a wasted season to me...Deb should have found out that season but they instead just stringed it along. This season is sooo boring; I am hearing all this excitement over Break Bad's final season and can't help but feel underwhelmed by Dexter. I am not even anxious for the next episode of dexter and there have been Sundays where i actually forgot about dexter completely...
Didn't care for Vogel. She was just a creepy English lady. I don't know why Hannah doesn't put a hat on or sunglasses when she goes out in public. Wake Up! Lem is after you!
They should have made Vogel like Dokes. Knew dexter was a psychopath and tried to get Miami PD on him. Or Deb could have shot Dexter (not kill) and this season would have been dexter at trial and all his hidden secrets going out. They could have done much better. I still watch because I have since the beginning.
The last episode was a total crock IMO. Hannah feels she has to take the toddler to the hospital for a skin cut on the chin right away because she couldn't get a hold of anyone until a few hours later. So, she is recognized and is using Deb's name. The kid wasn't going to die. And, she thinks she got away with it and even Dexter is acting like it wasn't a big deal. That's just poor writing IMO to wrap the show up. Surely, they could have come up with something better than this? I'm disappointed.
If this season ends without people ever knowing he was the bay harbor butcher that would suck. I always felt that Batista or masuka could have inadvertently found something on him. Anyone have an idea who the spin off will be about? I'm guessing laguerta and doakes prequel
This season has lost all semblance of common sense... 1) Why would you turn in somebody to the cops who knows you are a serial killer and probably knows your sister knew this as well (the files he got from vogals computer probably implicates Deb too) 2) Why would you not wear gloves when touching confidential files and CDs. I understand you have fingerprints all over vogals place cause you know her but it would be kinda weird if you have your finger prints on confidential documents especially if she has just been murdered 3) What is the point of this Masuka story line? 4) Why would you leave a very intelligent killer in a room by himself? and why would you leave you sister alone with him? 5) Why doesn't anybody put a password on their computer (Saxon, Deb) 6) How come the Deputy Marshall has no idea about a city wide man hunt for guy who cuts peoples head open? 7) Hannah why don't you put on a *****in hat or dye your *****in hair, something to throw off the cops? 8) Quin 9) Quin + Deb = blah --> could not care less about this romance 10) And when you send video files (of a guys head being cut open) over your own wifi, on your personal computer --> I am sure the police would be able to track it down... Can't remember a show tanking this hard...
Agree with all of this. Such a poorly executed final season. They should have brought on Gilligan as a consultant haha.
I don't know why I'm still bothering with this show. it has tanked hard over the last 3 seasons. WTH happened? Did the writers change? Even the acting seems to have sunk hard, but maybe its just the stupid dialogue they've been given.
Not to mention that alarm systems evidently don't exist in this universe, despite there being serial killers on the loose seemingly around every block.
Show's had about 2 or 3 too many seasons IMO. Take the best 4 seasons of the show (condensing a lot of the inner filler) and add a proper final season and this could have been one of the top series ever.
