Surprised they didn't leave us with a cliffhanger....no idea where this is going now...Hannah the final villain?
So many loose ends! Killing Laguerta doesn't get rid of that warrant for the cell phone calls between Dex and Deb from the Church on the night she caught him. A judge had signed off on it. You'd think that would still be an issue. Then you have Hannah. What does she do? A fugitive on the run. Does she really love Dexter? Will she come after either him or Deb? You have to suppose that there would be suspicion about Laguerta's murder, as well.
without laguerta's suspicion, the warrant wont mean anything. people will believe deb and dex bc no one suspects them like laguerta did. hannah is the only loose end but not really. she' left a goodbye plant, the writers can go any direction they want with that. edit
LKASNDVIOAINDV;KANS;DKNA OHHHHHH MYYYYYYY GODDDDDDDDDD THIS SHOW DOES IT AGAIN!!!!! What an absolutely brilliant episode. Truly nerve wrecking and truly shocking. Spoiler Honestly was surprised that Deb didn't poison herself. Hannah did it, and while I guess that was what they intended you to think on the last episode, there was a lot of speculation that Deb might have poisoned herself, so that was pretty cool. Glad they went in a direction that wasn't that obvious. Spoiler So......what the heck is gonna happen with Hannah???? She faked a heart attack/seizure to get out of jail, and now she's on the run. She put the plant at Dexter's house, and that's the last we saw of her. Is that a farewell present from her? Is it a warning symbol for Dexter that she's out of jail and possibly looking for him? Will she return for Season 8??? Goodness....can't wait to find out what happens with her Spoiler Deb killed LaGuerta...Oh my God...I had a slight feeling that this might happen, but I really didn't expect it to go down the way that they did it. I always had a slight feeling that Deb would warm up to the idea of killing somebody when necessary, but she still was genuinely terrified at the thought of killing Laguerta, and Jennifer Carpenter's acting during that scene was fantastic. Spoiler I only had 1 MINOR issue with this episode, but definitely not enough to truly bother me. The issue for me was I really don't think there was much of a cliffhanger ending that got me PUMPED for the next season. Now...make no mistake, I'm completely on edge already, but the ending was a bit to resolute for me, or maybe too resolute for what I was expecting. Of course...having said that...it makes me extra curious as to what Season 8 will be all about, especially with it being the last season of the show. Can't wait. Overall...just a phenomenal ending to a fantastic season. Season 8 is set up to be fantastic.
What was the point of all the Doakes flashbacks? Its like they were just trying to tease the audience into thinking that somehow he would return from the dead. I was sort of expecting some shocking reveal, but it never happened. LaGuerta urging Debra to shoot her own brother was pretty stupid on her part, and it was clear that as soon as she did it that Debra would shoot her instead. She already had a suspicion that Debra was helping Dexter, so why on earth would Deb shoot him -- to save her?
They explained the Doakes flashbacks in the episode. They flashed back to those moments with Doakes and Dexter because each one was a moment in time where Dexter let his "Dark Passenger" side out too much and Doakes catching on to him. Like when he was getting excited at the thought of a crime scene, Doakes was suspicious of this. When Dexter was able to quote the line from the killer's notebook, Doakes was suspicious about this. They definitely weren't pointless. Also...dude put that kind of stuff in spoilers for people who didn't watch the episode yet! Spoiler But yes....that was a minor issue I had with the show. During the end, it was pretty obvious that Dexter was not going to be the one Deb was going to shoot. The fact that they already announced a Season 8 kind of gave that away. However...it was still excellently played out and very intense stuff
Yeah it was pretty obvious she was going to kill LaGuerta, wasn't as mind-blowing of an ending as I expected. My only gripe is that LaGuerta would go to the container without calling backup...She hears the guy she used as bait in trouble and doesn't decide that maybe she shouldn't be going alone.
Spoilers man..... Spoiler That's a good point...but maybe she was hesitant to get anybody else involved because she was already being viewed in such a bad way by the rest of the department. But that's a good point.
Show has aired already. Anyone who's entering this thread should expect spoilers for episodes that have already aired. See: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?p=7255523#post7255523
i can't do spoilers. =( I was taught by some of you in the past, and could never do it. grr. so here i'm going to ask without being to obvious.... To frame and pin that crime scene on a specific person would be really complicated, even in "Dexter", right? unless two specific people have the same gun, which they could since they both work at Miami Metro.
Deb shot LaGuerta with her gun, right? Isn't that a problem? Or did Dexter cut her body up and dump her out?
I think dumping her body would defeat the purpose of that whole setup. I bet they have the exact same gun so it really wouldn't make a difference.
Every gun leaves a different mark on each bullet so they cant use la guertas gun as the weapon. They show deb and dex at the new years party so somethings got to give.
dex probably dumped both bodies. cell phone records will show that dude calling laguerta and dex/deb will fill in the rest of the story for how she went missing. it'll be interesting to see if that dude that was helping laguerta out get suspicious.
how does hannah's phone call not get recorded, aren't they suppose to record those calls?? a little disappointed how it ended, of course deb was gonna kill laguerta, and didn't leave a cliffhanger or hint for the last season. did they dump the bodies or leave it, cuz the bullet was not from hector's gun. so many questions!?!!
I was wondering the exact same thing. But anyway, it was a decent episode...no surprises but Im glad LaGuerta is dead, Hannah is alive and free; so all in all a decent episode. Debs acting at the end still annoys me...
I think he may have had to extract the bullet and give her a knife wound and make it look like Estrada killed her. What pisses me off is...and I understand they had to do this for the plot, but when Deb comes in she thinks Dex is going to kill Laguerta...which he isn't. Instead of saying he isn't, he says he has to do what has to be done, and that Deb should leave. Had he said that Deb wouldve left and Dex could have planted all the evidence and framed her ass.
The show progresses with people turning on Dexter after defending him. La Guerta defended Dex when Doakes suspected him, and Angel defended Dex when La Guerta suspected him. Next season is going to be Mathews and/or Angel turning on Dexter. Dex is going to die saving deb. That much I'm sure of.
Fantastic episode. The writers having Deb shoot off LaGuerta is full circle - those two have been going at each other throats for years. I think Hannah will play some role in the demise of the Morgans OR Dexter will have to choose between Deb and Hannah. Who says this show is still lame?
