That's cause first season Dexter was in full badass mode with no responsibilities and no one on his case about what he does, killing those who deserved it. It's weird to think but Rita might have been the worst thing to happen to his character.
Actually, I enjoyed it more when Rita was around because he actually had to "juggle" his life. Now, he just dumps his kid off with the sitter or the grand parents and he is free to do what he wants whenever. I thought it was a much better series when it was less about who and why he was killing and more about how we was doing it while trying to be seen as normal. Spoiler They tried to bring this back earlier this season with Deb, but she came around to the fact that he's a serial killer in an episode and a half and was asking him to kill for her in 4 episodes? Just lazy story telling in my opinion.
I agree 100 percent. I mean I loved Rita and shed a manly tear at the end of season 4. What I guess I meant from my poorly worded statement from before was that it was bad for him, as a serial killer, to be doing what he did while having a wife/kids, considering the complications that can arise from having them. Of course this is a TV show and they had to add this factor in to keep things interesting, or else it would just be him killing a different person each episode for whatever reason.
I enjoyed watching the newest episode and liked how it moved the plot along overall, and it set up for a potentially AWESOME episode next week, but seems like there was a lot of cases of bad writing on this episode. Could have been done much better. I'm excited for next week though
so excited for the last 2 episodes!!! been waiting for Masuka to get more lines since the beginning of the season and hopefully Quinn can go back to the same few lines he has like Batista. dexter has no code anymore, hannah is prob gon be gone by the end of the season, ahhhhhhhhhh so good can't wait for next week!
I was expecting Dexter to just drop him in the ocean and let him drown. I guess he could have rationalized that as not breaking his code, but rather it is "eye for an eye" since the guy did the same thing to his daughter.
Loved the episode, can't wait for the final two episodes of the season. Pleaaaaaaaaaase don't die Hannah!
Yeah, if I had to predict ... she threatens to kill Deb, and Dexter decides to take her out. And then Dexter and Deb get it on. Later, Dexter gets another imaginary visit from his father and awkwardness ensues.
As fine as Hannah is, the females on this show need to eat something. It's like LaGuerta is eating to make up for the rest of them.
Seems like LaGuerta will die pretty soon, would be a good cliff hanger if Deb kills her...DONT DIE ON ME HANNAH
would be a serious bummer, her and Jamie are true eye candy, also love Yvonne as an actress. Rather see Deb die.
Rewatching the series with friends who never seen it and now i can see a clear disparity between newer seasons and old ones. My goodness the drop off in terms of writing and acting, honestly dexter's brother was ones of the best acted characters in the series.
The show had a very dark and secretive feel to it. Now everything from camera work to acting is mehh. Still an enjoyable story, just wish it could regain some of its form back.
Oh ****! I predict that Dexter has to kill Hannah and that Deb will have to kill Laguerta. **** getting cra-cra!
