Gay's doing his thing, in Memphis. Just let it be, all the stats in the world, in memphis, won't translate directly here. We need 3pt shooters, Gay isn't one. We have scola and landry at the post, Yao when healthy, what's Gay going to do here? Move them out of the post so he can get his 50%? He's a good player, but his offensive skills are maximized on a team that can conform to him, not on an offense he has to fit in that revolves around a post players and 3 point shooting. If he was here his offense would suffer because he would get to the rim less often, not because i'm "hating" and thing he sucks, but because THERE WILL BE LESS ROOM. Will he still get there at times? Yes. As much as in memphis? NO.That means more jumpers for him, which means a lower FG%, he'll have to shoot a few more 3s, so again his % will dip some more. So he'll be less efficient, still not a 3pt shooter, you put him in a position where his skills are minimized, AND he doesn't play good defense. It's not hating, it's just a change of role he doesn't fit. It's like putting Yao in a run and gun offense, am i hating cus i think it would make him less efficient and minimize his talents?! Am i hating because i think his 100% FG shooting in the halfcourt won't mean much if he was going to GS?!?
