After reading the first post of this thread I get the feeling Van Gundier is copying New Yorker in one of his internet experiments.

This thread should be in a Yao only forum or bbs. Not in a Rox bbs.
How could you be so rude to insult Rox fans other than YOF?

I guess you could be called a VanGOH. (pun definitely intended)

I have yet to see you agree with or show public support for anything Van Gundy has done. :)

...but your posts are consistently well-written, even when I disagree, so I am not trying to disparage you.

The next thread started by Van Gundier will be one which he begs us to guess whether he is actually a:

    YOF
    YOH
    JVGOF
    JVGOH

He will first deny he's a YOF. Then he will admit that actually he is. And then he will deny he is...

Yao will never ask for a trade, but if T-Mac's back becomes a permanent problem, this team will forever suck, cause we don't have other great players.
With T-Mac's contract, we can get at least two fantastic role players and make Rox a contender.
If T-Mac becomes healthy, everthing is gonna be OK.

well, tmac's contract will end in 2010, right? yao will be 30 then, he should still have a few dominant years left, considering he doesn't rely on athleticsim to score.

I guess it's still too early to panic. This team shouldnt play so much worse
lately. They need to learn to win without Tmac. The good thing is that
compared to last year all recent losses were winable games. After some
tweaking JVG should be able to find a solution to bring us more wins than
    losses.

Houston has alot of asians, only problem is that the majority of them are Vietnamese. If YM11 was in Golden State, Sacremento, or NY, Im sure more Chinese fans would come out to the games.

    I know it's a sarcastic thread.
But I gotta say Yao will never demand a trade even if Houston Rockets never gets into the playoff.Loyalty is a party of his personality.

for all you people who lavished praise on vangundier when he first joined: this constant stream of bitter tongue-in-cheek threads is your fault.

i dont fault you, though, vangundier- we are all products of our environment to some degree...

Just leave Yao alone!!! In about 4 more seasons he will be the High scorer in the NBA and a leader of the newly rebuilt rockets.

I'm a chinese fan. This interview is translated from chinese. If there are any problems please don't mind.Thanks.
This interview takes place in a restraunt in Portland after the match. The original link:
    http://nba.sports.tom.com/2006-12-22/0424/00842359.html

    An interview with Yao
TITAN: Why did we lose today? Is that we get careless because the oppnonent is Portland?

Yao: I don't think so. For the just start I knew it will be a tough game. The process didn't surprise me much. We got beaten beacuse we hadn't done well in stemming their P&R and committed several mistakes which was unnecessary. We should be more flexible at the stretch of the 4th quarter.

TITAN: The record is 1/4 without T-Mac. How do you think about it?
Yao: To be frank, I do want to prove I can do it when Mac is out. I desperatly want to win our game without Mac. What's more, we are different this year.

    TITAN: What's the difference?
Yao: I erupted last year and improved my pt. Then I had a simple target which is if I score 30+ pts each, we have more oppotunities to win. But now, i know i can easily get 20+ or 30+ a game, but here comes an issue: we can't win even if i get good stats. I am in a contradictionary situation. If I have a one track mind, I can do it well. But I want to do two things simutaneously now, namely score and creating chances to help teammates to score. Last year, I feel I'm a little selfish when I shoot every time I get a chance. This year I want to be a teammaker as well.

TITAN: That's why your assist keeps improving.
TITAN: Assists and turnovers are improving. Turnover is a rewarding beacause you learn to dish. Centers don't have the same wild vision as guards do, so i've to communicate more effectively with teammates. I begin communicating with our guys on the court this year.
I tell them i can find them and pass them the ball if they are in the right position where i have a sight. If I don't pass the ball, that's because I haven't seen them or i just can't pass the ball.

TITAN: how difficult is it to do the two things?
Yao: You know, the speed, struggle, protection of your ball, score, the right time to dish. I think it's hard when you do those things at the same time in a game.

TITAN: To carry a team is tiresome, isn't it?
Yao: Definitely. I am afraid to gasp wildly because it may make you more tired. When i am on the court, i have to do as much as i can. If I go to the bench, i get more worried because opponents will get more chances. Our penetration declined since Snyder and tmac injured. Although coach demands more penetration, but due to the limitation of height and weight of our players, it's not that effective. So i have to handle the ball every round and post up. And that's the reason I wear out quickly. Now my average tpg is 36 min. From this perspective my performance is not bad. But i won't make it for 40+ mins. It's hard for me to fight 40+ mins. In that case, i just have to withstand the struggle.

TITAN: How many adjustments do Van Gundy do to assure your stamina in the 4th quarter to be a clutch man.
Yao: That's why he uses Wells lately. We lay our offense on him for several times to save my stamina. Although i run back and forth, i get less pressure than normal. He steps up more in 3th quarter.

TITAN: When will T-mac come back?
Yao: Who knows. At least he will not be back in the game with Spurs and Lac. He will fly to Houston tommorow morning. I think he will come to play around Christmas. Snyder needs 2 weeks.

TITAN: will you request to reduce your time if tired?
Yao: Or i can fight with some guy and get a prohibition for play. Ha, just kidding. You know I am not that kind of man. It's an expression. What i think is doing with all my best when game start, and nothing more.

Can't you understand that his back is CHRONIC- which means it is a problem Now as well as last season and the season before that. The Rockets management took a chance,. they made an error in judgement. They must now sort it out !!!

Yao will not leave Rox in the next few years. I pray that tmac become healthy and JVG be fired, then everything will be ok.
