Deke's been in the Finals twice. One was with Philly in 2001, the other was with NJ in 2003.

JVG's lone NBA Finals experience is nevertheless associated with a footnote.

I get what you're saying, we'll revisit this issue after the last regular season game. 11 games left though...

I guess my issues with Yao is more of a big picture issues.

I think complaining about Yao's play after being back less than two weeks from a three month stint is just plain silly, very similar to your posts. If you don't like my posts, just put me on your ignore list like I am about to do to you.

Alright, then it's just me that's worried too much. You should have seen all the bashing he's got for these two games on Chinese forum, I'm so happy most of you guys here still believe in him.

I would be willing to bet that more people (and likely a lot more) on this board agree with my view on this issue - that Yao is rounding back into shape, that he will be fine by playoff time and that posters like you are overreacting in your critiques - than you. Maybe you owe us the public service?

Of course he should continue shooting. Yao hasn't shot well in the last two games, but those are anomalies. He's always been our most efficient offensive weapon so I have no worries there. However, I am concerned about his lack of aggressiveness in attacking the basket. He doesn't dunk when he's right next to the basket, and he's settling for too many turnaround jumpers. The refs don't give Yao calls partly because (1) many don't respect Yao and (2) Yao has been taking too many jumpshots. He needs to start backing up his opponent in the post more often and getting right next to the basket before shooting. I guarantee that he'd get more calls if he did this. His defensive presence is not a concern, as he makes opposing players think twice before driving the lane, and if they do, they tend to alter their shots. Still, we'll need Yao to be at a high level on both ends if we want to get past the first round. T-Mac alone won't be able to do it.

That's weird, you responded to my post, how did you do that when I'm on your ignore? A PC glitch, weak fortitude, or that familar hit head on brick wall until your proven right stamina? What a trooper...

My issues are legit, even the head coach is calling him out, but hey keep those Yao tinted sunglasses on. Like I told Hayesfan (who at least responded in a knowledgable way), we'll revisit this at the end of the season.

The only thing you got right is that I didn't put you on my ignore list and didn't. Forgive me for the guilty pleasure of laughing at your posts.

As you suggested, let's chat in the first round again. You are the one with the false perception of reality. Don't confuse a coach playing mind games to motivate his players with significant issues. He is doing this to get into Yao's head prior to the playoffs. When Yao goes off next for a couple of games will you also be crowning him? The same logic must hold right? As you suggested, we'll revisit again in the playoffs. If the Rox run into issues, I'd be willing to bet it won't be due to Yao.

That's the first time I've seen someone laugh at someone else's posts while getting one's panties in a bunch because he was insulted for giving a lame attempt at sarcasm.

Head coaches playing mind games with his players, heavens forbid the thought never occured to me...
Have you even watched the games lately? JVG isn't pulling issues out of his @ss just to push Yao, his rebounding and defense needs to go up.

That's a big @ss bet, given that Yao only has 1 playoff series under his belt. He's not exactly a playoff veteran that has figured things out.

Sure, I'll crown him, yeah you pegged me as a bandwagon fan alright, you are a genius. Why the notion that I'll judge his body of work in the next 11 games as to what shape he'll be in for the playoffs never occurred to me, I'll just call him a loser then the coming of Jesus game by game. Yeah you figured me out. If twisting ones words to fit an argument is the mark of a genius, you are the Einstein of Clutchfans.

Anywho, Yao needs to improve, screw the lame excuses and the lame YOFs who give him his excuses.

Ah I can tell you're a tmac only fan since Yao has 2 playoff series only his belt...one when francis was still here, before tmac arrived in houston. ;)

...Can we at least wait a game or two before offically announcing that Yao is in a slump? Two games, back to back don't qualify as a slump to me.

OK, sure, let's take the best post player in the league who is coming back from a three month imnjury and start reacting to 2 average games. You just look silly that's all. Every player can improve some aspect of his game and Yao is no exception. He is the least of the Rox problems though. By the way, spewing vitriol doesn't make your points any more cogent. It is entertaining though - thanks.
