Get rid of Yao?

  1. YES - on moral grounds, especially since he likes his country.

the dude in the video says they can't rap about political stuff cause its not allowed so they have to be the Fat Boyz instead of Public Enemy.

Don't worry. Hip Hop will rise.

What makes you think that Chinese posters here don't know how to think independently and can only recite the Party line? It's very ridiculous idea fed by the Western media( I have to think so). Any time I can cite you many articles on internet in which the author point out some negative sides and deficiencies of the Chinese government's actions or even of the political system in their own opinion. The only problem is I'm sure you can't read Chinese and thus you don't see anything like that except what your own English media tells you. I don't deny that Chinese government has the cliche idea of using traditional media as a propaganda tool. On the other hand we find it doesn't mean at all that Chinese press is more biased than something like CNN. Now the impression of some American media on Chinese people is not only biased but also malicious. Remember, we don't get the impression from what you think controlled Chinese press. We read it by ourselves and judge it by our own free mind.
I believe at least half of the Chinese posters here either are living in the US or ever visited US. On the contrary, I am sure more than 99% of the young American posters who ridiculously insisted on some invented massacre of Tibetans here have never been to Tibet or even any city of the mainland China. It makes me laugh that a person who has never been to China claims that he knows China better than someone who lives there; knows Tibet better than someone who worked there for ten years.
Many years ago an American professor told me that he found Chinese young men knows even better about American history than American young guys themselves. I won't conclude that Americans are ignorant and self-contented. But Chinese people are also not so ignorant as you think. Come on and take a real look at other countries before you give your comment!

The general lack of education in America is sickening.

A typical anti-Chinese, anti-olympic American does not even have a slightest understanding of Chinese society. Of course, they have never read any statement made by the Dalai Lama. They have no understanding of Chinese or Tibetan history. Their only source of information is the press with daily uttering of the words and phrases such as "communist China", "human right abuse", "poisonous toys", “trade imbalance”, “taking away our jobs”, etc. (Well, hate it to break it to you, American companies chose to import from the cheapest and most convenience source under a capitalistic system. We sold what we sell, you bought what we sell.) There is no positive press coverage over China in America; naturally any American would have very negative views about a country, destined to become the sole superpower in the late 21st century.

Please, go read some history from some third party perspective; not propaganda released by Dalai Lama and his supporters. (Even better, do some reading on Dalai Lama's statements toward China/Tibet from the 1990-1993 and 2002 in particular)

Well, I am a proud Chinese American who grew up in Europe. I have a complete European elementary and American high school education. As a senior, I will be going to one of America's finest colleges next year. Please, do not label me as a "simply brainwashed/misinformed Chinese living in China with strong nationalistic tendencies".

I'll give you some people here really think:

"I am white so I can think independently."

"All you Chinese people look the same so therefore you must think the same."

"You are all borg. See? I am pretty cool and hip with my nerdy Star Trek references."

"I like to post pictures of William Hung to prove how uncool Chinese people can be."

"I want to get into Dickie Gere's pants."

William Hung made some $$$ out of it and I did mention that he thinks independently. what other Chinese civil engineering major fro UC Berkley with no basic music training can get so much world wide popularity?

you have to admit there are some Borg posters out there dude. not cause they are 'yellow' borg, its that they worship the queen too much.

notice how i mention random people like the Beastie Boys and Richard Gere and the BORG come out and start googling away to see who they are and shoot some hater phasers.

its too easy langal. have you seen Mothman Prophecies? that was a decent Richard Gere movie.

that's the beauty of the internet langal. no one knows who you really are. you throw your racist shots while not knowing who the hell the other guy is...that makes you BORG

well, since you are claiming your knowledge of Larry Smith, let me educated you as a TRUE ROCKET fan would:

Rockets week in review/Akeem-less victories become habit

    Staff

    Sunday, Feb. 3

    Rockets 143, Golden State 135

On a night when there were remarkable offensive displays all over the court, it took a blocked shot that would have made Akeem Olajuwon envious to earn the Rockets a tantalizing victory.

Kennard Winchester rose above the rim to a hero's pedestal at The Summit, slapping away a Mitch Richmond shot that set in motion the fast break that pumped the Rockets to a thrilling double-overtime win over the Golden State Warriors.

For all the highlight-reel offensive plays, the Rockets were saved by the 6-foot-5 Winchester's rejection.

With the game tied at 131, Richmond was posting up Sleepy Floyd. He wheeled for a 12-foot jumper from the wing and as the ball neared its apex, Winchester came from nowhere to slap it against the backboard.

Buck Johnson rebounded and fed Kenny Smith, who was fouled as he made a layup at the other end. The free throw put the Rockets up three and they held off the Warriors the rest of the way.

It was the Rockets' fifth win in their last six games and boosted them to 8-8 without Olajuwon.

"This team is learning how to win, and that's a gigantic statement considering the heartbreaking losses we've had over the past two years," coach Don Chaney said. "They absolutely refused to lose."

The Rockets overcame a 13-point deficit in the fourth quarter, then sweated out the two extra periods after having gone one overtime to beat San Antonio just 24 hours earlier.

Larry Smith had an NBA season-high 25 rebounds, and five players had 20 or more points, only the second time in club history that has happened. And, when it was done, the Rockets had proved that five big guns can beat three, but just barely.

Chris Mullin, Tim Hardaway and Richmond combined for 99 Golden State points. But Johnson, Otis Thorpe, Vernon Maxwell, Kenny Smith and Floyd had 125 among them for the Rockets.

that's the beauty of the internet Tinman. no one knows who you really are. you throw your racist shots while not knowing who the hell the other guy is...that makes you WHITE BOY RACIST

anywho - back to sports and Larry Smith

    i had to go check.

he played 3 seasons with the Rox near the end of his career. I don't think that qualifies him as a "great Rocket".

One game does not make a career.

dude go on the garm and start something about larry smith.

larry smith had a legendary run as center when dream got hurt by cartwright. he grabbed a billion boards and help the rox make the playoffs. google all u want, I witnessed it. also u know rudy t? our legendary coach? guess who was the assistant for all those years?? its not a white boy like you.

if I can't change your view on richard gere at least u learn something about the old rockets. and the old rocket fans like me and clutch, we don't forget cause we love the team
