Should we try a different starting lineup? (Landry over Hayes)

carl can provide the score off the bench.if he change to be a starter instead of chuck.I don't know whoelse will be our scoring option in our second lineup.you can't hope kyle do everything along with chuck and CBundinger.

 

I have a thought that have been nagging at me for the past couple of weeks. Rox always goes off slow in the first quarter, then RA put in Lowry, CBud and Landry and Rox put on a run.

So who is at fault for the sluggish start? Brooks and Ariza for being late starters? or Battier and Hayes for their limited offensive production?

If offense is the missing ingredient for the "starting 5", then why not have Landry starting?

If more energy is needed, then why not start Lowry over AB?

Anyway, Tmac should be back soon, so thats your primary offensive option for the 2nd unit.

 

why not scola a sixth man???

 

he is a rookie.... of course he is not gonna come out every night and put up numbers.... you've seen what he is capable of on a hot night.... give him time.... people like his potential...

 

Don't think neither Landry or Scola can guard most center effectively, so starting Landry(with Scola) over Hayes will not work.

PG - Aaron Brooks
SF - Shane Battier
PF - Carl Landry
SG - Tracy McGrady
C - Chuck Hayes

 

One of the main reasons that we have Hayes starting, has to do with his defense & protecting our PF's from getting in foul trouble. Stick Scola or Landry on the opponent's #1 big man and they could have trouble finishing games. Adelman's rotation is designed to have Landry finish out games and this is one way to assure that happens.

I would say it boils down to our wing players, especially Ariza. In our last two games, he his shooting was terrible and that really put us in an early hole. Battier has never been aggressive scoring, so don't expect him to help with the scoring load. Budinger hasn't shown the consistency yet to earn the starting job and I think we need his scoring off the bench. Some of you may not want to hear this, but it sounds like we need McGrady. Does he play great defense? No, but who else on this team does everything great on both sides of the ball? We need his offense, much like we need defense from Hayes & Battier. Start him with either Ariza or Battier, depending if you want a little more offense or defense.
