How many times did Ric Smits drop 27+ on Shaq? And Yao has so much more impact on a game, even in his roockie year, than Smits did at any point in his career. Yao's presence alone helps the rockets and that doesn't show up on stat sheets.

And Smits averaged about 15/6 in his career, his best being 18/6. Yao, in his second year, already averages 17/9 and about 16/8.5 for his career, so you can't even use the "he had better stats" arguement, INCLUDING the FACT SMITS PLAYED IN A HIGHER SCORING ERA. Yao's 17/9 is probably becaomes 22/8 in the non-zone era.

Smits wasn't as big, strong, or even quick for that matter, and he was maybe on par with Yao's shooting. You maybe could have made the comparison early in Yao's roockie year, but it's just ludacris now.

    Terrible Post.

As long as we're spouting off silly-ass fantasy trades, how about George W. Bush for Ralph Nader?

Right, whoever we trade Yao for will face the same risk.

Good question. Sounds like a fantasy trade.

A few good men in the league good enough for a Yao Trade.

    1. Duncan+Ginobili
    2. Kobe+Shaq+Payton ( But I don't like Shaq )
    3. Ben+Rasheed Wallace(s)
    4. Garnett+Casell+Hudson
    5. Kidd+Jef+KMart

Do you wanto more or do you want this locked? :)

shoot I'd do yao for duncan and manu and kg for cassell but neither of those teams would give up that much. Or how bout we do a three way with miami and NO...trade yao and stevie for Odom, Baron, and Eddie Jones...haha just my fantasy.

Yao for Duncan is a good trade in that Timmy D has shown that he can carry a team of nothings on his back to a title, much like our own Hakeem. Yao for KG would be a nice trade just because KG is the most complete player in the game today.

But Yao/Stevie for Lamar/Eddie Jones/BD? Steve for Baron is a wash, although I'd much rather keep Francis than have 40 3 pters jacked up by Baron. So you're basically saying you'd trade Yao for Lamar Odom and Eddie Jones? A 7'6" C with court vision, passing skills, an improving low post game, fluidity, grace, etc. for a pothead who has just now started coming into his own and a player on the downhill side of his prime? Do you really want to see a rotation like this:

    PG Baron Davis
    SG Cuttino Mobley
    SF Eddie Jones
    PF Lamar Odom
    C Kelvin Cato

It'd be just like having 1 Francis and 2 Mobleys on the court at the same time. And Lord knows most of the people on this BBS don't want to see that. Maybe you should go to a Miami Heat fansite:rolleyes:

First of all, I'd hardly consider parker, manu, and prior to last season stephen jackson nothings. parker's one of the better pure pg's in the league and despite the lack of offensive threat is a more complete pg than steve is right now although I give credit to steve for doing his best to adjust to the system. Speaking of Odom, he's basically getting what yao is right now. 17 pts almost 10 boards and a little over 4 assists a game. That's more boards and assists than yao also. I know yao has the intangibles of court vision, and a soft touch and obviously being 7'6 but it's not that big of a descrepancy. Baron for steve is not wash because baron is more of a pg than steve. He only shoots shot so much because mash was out for a good part of the season and who would you want carrying your team baron or the likes of magloire, wesley, or armstrong? Eddie is more of a mobley type player and we can always use another shooter.

Finally that woud NOT be the lineup despite what tierre said.
    pg - baron
    sg - mobley
    sf - jones
    pf - odom
    c - kurt thomas

Kurt is a banger inside and the fact that he played for gundy, gundy would definetly want him back playing for him. I know kurt and cato woud not be much of an offensive center tandem but with our other 4 positions the offensive woud not need to run through the post. Besides, no way this trade could happen anyways because salaries wouldn't work out. It's just something to think about.

Your post is so stupid I don't know how to respond. So I guess I'll just ask you that why doesn't basically the SAME type of lineup work in the EC in Miami?
