Rik Smits right? Yao already averages more points and rebounds in his second season than Rik EVER did.. wtf.... dumb idiot. Also, I never saw Smits score and shoot jumpers off of shaq. Reggie miller made those types of opportunities possible for Smits. Not the otherway around.
Is Yao a dotcom stock that is going to fall down quickly after the initial euphoria gives way? Judging from his fundamentals in playing basketball, I'd have to put Yao in the blue chip category similar to an early version of Walmart. However, Steve is similar to the Nasdaq. He excites the casual fan, but his fundamentals are horrible. Steve's stock price is trying to bottom, but I believe any decent performance from now to the offseason will give Rocket fans the belief that a bottom has been put in. It will be a false bottom.
The scary thing is -- the chart says that SF3 has formed a double bottom and has sent a tentative buy signal. However, since we don't see a classical rally (after the 2rd bottom), I guess that this is a head fake and we will see new low pretty soon. SF3 has to rally during the next 4-5 games otherwise I will short him and buy a ton of puts. I will long SF3 if he plays for another team, and either short or buy puts if he remains a Rocket. On the other hand, Yao is a strong buy for the next 4-6 years. If you are a risky investor, you should consider purchasing some long leap calls. And sure if there is any chance that he plays for the Kings, Spurs, Timbervolves, just spend all your money on leap calls. You will be richly rewarded.
Ah man, you're bringing back memories of old Troy. What a joke! You remember some of the "senior members" that wanted to do that trade? I remember who guys were.
Charvo, I am little lost. I thought you were in the move Steve to the 2 rather than trade him category. Am I wrong? If I am not, why the ending sentence?
I wish Rox management would do that. Could save me at least couple hundred $ each season for the league pass
I don't think shorting him will do much good because I think he can go any lower in value than he is now.
I'm with Oliver67 in that Steve will flourish on another team. His skillset does not fit with the offense, and his shooting percentage may go even lower due to his confidence getting shot by missing too many jumpshots. Steve's a rhythm player, and there's no way he is getting rhythm by shooting jumpers on pick and rolls or from passes from the post.
MIN may not want to trade KG, since he is probably the best player in the league right now. But Les sure will not trade Yao for ANYONE, period! Potential THE dominate player in the league for the next 10 years, plus a sure hit money machine. Are you kidding me?
The answer is Yes of course. If you want to be an immediate winner, trade for Shark. If you want to be a persistent winner, trade for Duncan. If you want to be a good team and contending for playoff every year, trade for Garnett.
