I didn't think people had to specify they would for a kevin Love...that goes without saying. Just like we'd trade Harden for Durant in a heartbeat.

The point is, he's not aaron brooks. Like morey said, guys like that, hit a peak, and you sell high because they can be replaced fairly quickly in the draft or with a trade. However, a young true center, who can defend without fouling, rebounds exceptionally well, is more fluid than not, active, who isn't injury prone, and isn't completely useless offensively? Good luck finding that in a trade the next 3 years, without trading half the team. I wouldnt bet on drafting one either. Unless we're drafting top 5, you're not likely to secure one with one try (pick). You'd have to take a crack at it over 2, maybe 3 years, and even then you're at the mercy of what is available, which is slim pickings.

Is this thread for real?? Epic fail on the op's part. You are able to get a guy who given a chance is showing that he is a top 5 center and then you want to trade him?? WTF man??

I'd trade him straight up for Dwight Howard, and then only if D12 agreed to an extension. Even for D12, I wouldn't be sure if I got the better of the deal. Asik is improving every game and we don't even know what his ceiling is. D12 is not the same since his back injury, and may have permanently regressed.

Demarcus Cousins? Asik may be eclipsing Cousins ceiling soon. Asik is also hard working and not a head case.

LMA or Love or Bosh would be tempting, and though they are good PF they are not great as defensive centers, and Greg Smith is not ready to take over.

The people I've mentioned are cherished by their teams an not available for a straight up trade for Asik anyway. So no, we are not trading him.

Whenever someone starts to get good, trade him? Is OP implying that Asik is a flash in the pan? Keep Asik!

you sir with all due respect, are a total idiot. Do you know how difficult it is to get/find a quality defensive, rebounding machine center now-a days? Omer Asik. Hell just to find a decent center is hard now a days and the Rockets should know that. SO hell no

so are you willing to trade Harden who is a proven young all-star with serious potential to become a superstar, for a non proven- probably over hyped college prospect, who hasn't played a single damn minute in the league?

If we get rid of Asik our defense leaves with him. You gotta be kidding. Unless we get back DH or KL... helltodafuqnoyoudumsonsabiatch

10% actually want to trade Asik? I guess Lin fans are upset that Asik is taking away some of the spotlight from Lin.

Reads like half a question posted by the OP.
The quick answer would be, anyone can and should be traded for someone/something better.

The only time we trade Lin, Parsons or Asik is if we get a superstar in return.
