Like I said he has a strong arm and can throw it deep, but he needs accuracy (and a lot) and good decision making.
I watched some of the game...the guy is absolutely brutal. I squirm in my chair because his suckitude makes me feel uncomfortable.
ok help the undereducated here... ...didn't Cutler play pretty well in Denver? I know he's a titty-baby and an entitled brat, but I don't remember him sucking big huge donkey balls like this? watched the game last night; holy crap. he's down in david carr territory.
He made just as many bad plays (expected since he was young) - but he mixed in a whole bunch of good plays too. He benefited from a system that made Jake Plummer and Brian Griese look good as well (and post similar numbers). There's actually some talk that Chicago is interested in Shanahan as their coach next year, so that could help him to get back on track.
Here's an example of a DD clutch player. At home, needing a win to make the playoffs: 8 out of 21, 82 yards, 2 intereceptions and a fumble for an 11.9 rating. Clutch!
in defense of Cutler who i could care less about, he's got a crap of an offensive line, no running game, no receivers, and is in his first year of that crap offense they run in chicago. can't remember the last time they scored over 30, 40... Cutler showed how well he can play with a good line, running game, and receivers like Marshall. Put Cutler in a better situation, you'll get better results. look at Orten, he sucked in CHI, but now playing much better in DEN.
Im pretty sure the same could be said about every QB in the league. The problem with Cutler is that his decision making has been terrible...his throws have been horrendous as well. He just looks completely lost on the field. Very disappointing season for him, regardless of the pieces he has around him.
They had all those same players last year (with Orton instead of Cutler) and were scoring 23pts / game instead of 18.
Cutler seems to have caught Jeff George disease. Despite the way he's played, he's still extremely talented. I think he needs a high quality QB coach to get in his ear and get him back on track. Giving him some talent to work with and a player who can provide some leadership on offense, be a role model, and take some heat off of him would probably help too.
LOL - you still think "he's a far more talented quarterback than Schaub"? http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showpost.php?p=4290466&postcount=20
This is probably most accurate. But for QBs, physical limitations are much easier to overcome than mental ones.
