5 interceptions to a team that was killed by VY and the Titans rushing attack last week.... That says it all.
This trade is looking better week by week for the Broncos, however I want to ask, what if Orton walks away at seasons end and the Broncos are looking for a new QB whether it be draft or FA? Bears "win" the trade then? Not saying that will happen but it seemed like the media and some fans alike said Orton is not the long term answer there at the beginning of the season. Think Orton has earned himself a nice raise in the almost near future?
hell, i didn't think he'd last the season, lol! i'm fairly certain orton is going to crash into the earth's atmosphere at some point, if he hasn't already. but looking at denver's remaining schedule - i don't see how they don't finish 10-6. or, rather - they should finish 10-6. question is: could they have gone 10-6 with cutler? better? worse? would he be a better option in the postseason. it's a passing league and orton can't pass. cutler can't either, but man - that bears team looks like a wreck. certainly cutler's a large reason why but... it's not good beyond him, either.
my closest friend who's a bronco fan says he still thinks mcdaniels screwed up the cutler thing...and that he thinks the broncs would be better with cutler than orton.
I don't think it'll be that crucial if Orton walks. I mean they have him under control with a playmaker receiver, possesion receiver, and a two headed running back tandem. I'm sure they'll be able to pick up one of the young guys coming out at QB this year with the Bears early 1st rounder. Thanks again Chi town!!! - Love Coach McDaniels.
I still don't know what to think about this whole situation, but I'm still going to say that I'll be shocked if Denver makes the playoffs. I just don't think they are what their record, at the moment, says they are. (yes I know they play oakland and KC). I'm not sold at all on the Broncos and Orton.
Your buddy isn't the sharpest tool in the shed. Orton epitomizes the opposite of everything wrong with Cutler - he knows his limits, he works hard to compensate for the fact that he's not an especially gifted QB, he plays smart and studies film, he accepts blame and learns from his mistakes. It was disgraceful to watch Cutler continue to point fingers last night on the field and off ("The entire offense should apologize"). Classic example of a phony Superstar. It's hilarious how the Chicago (and to a degree, the National) media has been making excuses for him all season. He throws Devin Hester under the bus the second he's off the plane, and the Chicago papers were writing about how franchise QBs hold players accountable. WTF.
.... and the Broncos lost to the Skins today. They are what we thought they were. Not that good of a team. Playoffs? I still say no.
They were ahead and doing fine until Orton got hurt. Chris Simms is terrible, though. If he has to start many games, they are in deep, deep trouble.
Cutler has a power throw and he can throw a long pass than Orton, but that could be take it as a disadvantage, or an advantage. Im glad the Texans didnt got him, definitely Schaub is doing a lot better.
no offense but i've never heard of your power throw, although i get it. cutler, for all the talent he's got... an incredible arm, accurate enough, good decision making, etc... he'll never win a superbowl nor lead his team deep into the playoffs. IMO, he's not even a top 10 QB in the league. plus the bears really don't have crap for receivers.
The Bears o-line is pretty bad, and his receivers aren't great. That's all true. But since the start of his freshman year at Vanderbilt, his record as a starting QB, is 32-59. I know Vanderbilt played in the SEC, and they were outmanned. Eventually, he has to overcome some of the obstacles in his way.
he's not that great, a lot of hype cause of his arm. not a franchise quarterback, i can name a lot of quarterbacks better off the top of my head but why bother. everyone knows.
Im not defending Cutler, I said he had a great arm, but its not always accurate, and not the best decision making, I think Denver is better without Cutler, he is not a leader, and I agree that he's not a top 10 QB.
I'll just come out and say it: Cassel > Cutler Josh McDaniels had it right all along (It's been that kind of day, I feel like stirring up the pot )
Not if you expect your QB to be able to hit wide open receivers. That was a dreadful performance by Cutler. The loss lies squarely on his shoulders. His defense did all they could.
