We don't have enough money to make a serious run at Jaric.

But I'm not sure what the big deal w/ Jaric is. The guy is as injury prone as they come. 66-58-50 are the number of games he's played in his first 3 seasons. He's not a great shooter and his defense is terrible. He isn't very athletic so turning him into a defender won't be as easy as everyone thinks.

Some people just go gaga at the notion of big PGs.

I don't think I will ever understand this board's fascination with Marko Jaric.

I'm with Cabbage on this one!

Put the pipe down. That **** is effecting your judgement.

We need a 1 with passing skills not another 1-2 that cant pass.

"The board's" fascination? After viewing the posts on this thread I'd say most people (me included) are against signing Jaric. In fact, since he is an UFA and hasn't agreed on a contract indicates not too many teams in the NBA are fascinated with him. He's everyone's 4th or 5th choice if all else fails.

I think alot of people want to make a move just for the sake of making a move.

i think he can handle the job of dribbling the ball up to midcourt and giving it to tmac as fast as possible. he shot 37% from 3p last yeare so he can shoot it.

That's funny because I actually did read it as, "I'm not sure what the big deal is."

Jaric Is Looking to Be Signed and Traded
By Jerry Crowe, Times Staff Writer

Marko Jaric remained in limbo Tuesday, a man without a team on the first day of the NBA's free-agent signing period.

His agent, Bill Duffy, hinted that other teams had shied away from Jaric, a 6-foot-7 Serb who is determined to make a name for himself as an NBA point guard, because the Clippers could match any offer made to the restricted free agent.

Duffy also reiterated that Jaric, penciled in to play a backup role with the Clippers after two seasons as a starter, would like to move on.

"I honestly think it's his preference to be elsewhere," Duffy said of Jaric, who last week visited the Cleveland Cavaliers and Denver Nuggets, "because he thinks he has a better opportunity to play point guard, which is important to him."

The agent said he would meet today with Clipper Coach Mike Dunleavy. A sign-and-trade deal "would be best for all parties," Duffy said, "but we have to see what unfolds here."
