I was thinking the same thing. The Magic make the playoffs every year. Go deep in the post season 80% of the time and make it to the Finals 20%. With all the lawsuits and whatnot, this is just too much of slander. Dwight and Orlando could probably sue and win this one if they wanted to.
Dwight Howard would be an awesome pick up. It probably wouldn't happen though. Always hearing about New York is ridiculous though. Last season they were terrible. They're still reeling from an inept front office. And yet all of these good players want to go there. New York would be a sick team with Dwight Howard. Felton Fields Anthony Stoudemire Howard That would be ridiculous...
I don't think Melo, Amare, nor Dwight can do what Miami's big 3 did with the pay. Hell Amare's contract alone makes it an impossible proposition. I have a feeling if NY wanted Melo and Dwight, they will be trying to move Amare's contract or as him for a buyout and sign him for the amount necessary to accommodate Melo and Dwight + role players. Not gonna happen.
This guy is Ron Artest II dying to be a Laker. Maybe he'll take a min deal for a year and go with Miami. These guys want to win a title and they want it to be easy.
The guy gets beat up night in and night out without getting many calls. We went through that with Yao.
Been saying this for months. Something like this will be worse than malice at the palice for the league among casual fans. I'll be fed up, too. The NFL is king, in part, due to parity.
I absolutely love Howard, my current favorite NBA player. Love his size, skills, and his attitude. That would be fantastic, love it, BUT seems unlikely to happen. But if it could, move heaven and earth to get it done. Why would be come here? He would get his money, and the Rockets are a bunch of nice guys; I think he would like playing here. Martin outside, Howard inside, whoa. Scola would clean up as well. He is the inside defensive presence we need.
Whomever can fit him with Paul(preferable)/Williams and a bunch of solid role players are where he will go
Good. Then I doubt this story has legs to it. Still dont think he would have much of an inclination to sign with Houston but you never know. If I was Morey I sure wouldnt bank on it the way New York did with Lebron.
Yes, you got after him, but he's going to end up in LA, if he leaves Orlando. He wants to play ball AND act.
True that, and people wonder why these same franchises win the chip over and over again. It is as if they have a farm system out there.
At the end of the ay all FA's will want to go to the biggest market possible because it's not just the money they make playing Basketball. They want as much exposure as they can get because the exposure leads to money and more money. It's a sad state of affairs but it's the reality of the game and all the money that goes with it. Unless you get a superstar through the draft you are most likely not going to land a huge guy being in a small market. The worse thing is that after all that is said and done the ones you pick up in the draft even want to leave after their rookie contracts are up.
On a side note, I think Scola would be a perfect fit in Orlando. With Howard making up for his defensive deficiency, Luis would be a very dangerous offensive threat with his variable post moves and mid-range Js.
