Those who argued that you can't get any fair value or anything good for Tmac, well who said we would. If you make a down payment and you know it is a lost, would you continue to make the payment or take the lost and move on.

If the decision is not to take anymore chances with Tmac, then take the best trade options available for him to improve the team. The current team is not going anywhere.

Giving one more chance or not depends on which Les wants more, a ring or money? I guess it is the latter, which means Les won't do anything to tmac until the end of his contract.

Well yes and no, first off the reason we have Snyder and Wells is they are (in wells case) a poor mans t-mac in (Snyders case) an middle eastern construction workers t-mac. This being said I belive with both of them at full strength we will not have such a bad record without T-Mac. Heck we are losing nail bitters on the road as is.

Second, Mac is our second best player by far and while I agree pushing him with 40+ min a night is not the best thing for him I also have never bought into being so carefull that we reduce minutes to 20 a game for injury prevention.

T-Mac needs to be more consistant with his shot since he is not going to the hole as often and as far as his back goes the only thing he can do are his exercises, stretching and above all be honest with the trainers on how it feels.

One more thought, we have a chance to win a title with T-Mac healthy we have zero shot to win with whatever trash we would get in return for him if we traded Mac period.

I don't think it can be any more simple...TRACY MCGRADY HAS A BAD BACK.

That's it...you got a bad back? Forget it...it will haunt you til you die. THere are all kinds of intricate components that once damaged, just don't heal the same as everything else. Until technology provides some miraculous surgical procedure to correct such injuries...the back will continue to be the worst type of injury. Even the knee has reconstrucive surgury...what does one do for a slipped disc? Wait for the pain to subside and go at it again.

He is damaged forever...T-Mac as we knew him is no more.

With Yao dominating we just need mac to do what he has been doing imo.

After three years when he is gone we don't rebuild, we reload with Yao

The way things have been going with T-Mac, I would take my chances with the trash we would get in return.

one more chance? what does that mean anyways? "we" dont have a choice but to give tmac all the chances until his contract expires. He isnt going anywhere.

Tracy is a great player but is damaged goods with a chronic back.
Unless there is a definite treatment to solve this problem there are five alternatives.
a] Things go on as they are, every so often his back goes out and he is injured for say 15 games before returning.
b] He continues but as a role player, becoming the main playmaker of the team
[ he could be the best in the NBA] and only shooting easy shots.
c] Either of the above with a renegotiated contract.[Is this possible?]
d] He retires due to injury and insurance pays him off
e] The Rockets manage to move him and in doing so acccepts a young prospect and whatever.

yao is the type of player who needs one more star to get us a championship... trading tmac now wud be totally illogical. what good pg? bibby everyone says? then what? you think we can win with yao/bibby? no. dont trade, unless you bring a proven all-star.

Maybe Orlando would take him back for Grant Hill's expiring contract.

tmac for 20 mins, yao for 25 mins for foul trouble or stamina or whatever. we may have to have 15 players on the bench.

in another thread, a poster suggested we go after Billups, if we can somehow do a SAT to ship tmac somewhere and get billups and wells, we can still content:

    billps/alston/vspan
    wells/snyder/head
    battier/snyder
    hayes/howard/novak
    yao/ (?) our pick?

guyz this back problem has proven to be chronic even back then, ppl like Larry Bird retired from it. We gotta make a decision, will mcgrady be able to consistently help us and give us a chance at the title or will his back problems be the end of it. Tmacs my fav player but soomethings gotta be done, either trading or gettin someone else in.

Thank you...best post of the entire thread. TMAC is ours, we need to figure out the best way to use him and keep him as healthy as possible until he retires.
