I'm not going to lie. I trust them. But I cringe at the idea at how hard we fell after the 14-15 season making it to the WCF. I really hope we don't carry the same fate as the 15-16 team. We thought Lawson would put us over the top, Harden came into camp out of shape. It just sucked. Really hope they still have the drive they had prior to this season.
They mentioned his physique in those pics on the NBA channel on SiriusXM today. I only caught the last phrase where they said they hope he gets it together after seeing the pics. lol.
I can see the parallels -- Harden, Harden, WCF, WCF, Lawson, Melo. But two key differences to remedy malaise: MDA > McHale CP3 >>> Dwight
From what I’ve read harden was a chubby kid with asthma , he never relied on Freak athleticism , he is a rhythm player, using guile and basically not forcing things just taking what the defense is giving .. obviously when the season starts he will be in better shape than at this moment in the offseason. Let the dude enjoy his life and put A1 on his expensive steaks he’s earned it
don't be worried. The peds kick in real fast and he'll be hoe ready overnight. Right now he's off cycle so he looks like ****.
Well, if this NBA thing doesn't work out for him, he can always be the Galleria's black Santa during Christmas.
I heard that segment as well. Just Termine has warmed up to Harden, but he was saying that he (Termine) was more in shape then Harden was, among other digs. Then he said all that matters is for him to get in shape by season start. Harden has been exercising/balling all summer long until the last few weeks. I think last season he went particularly hard to take the MVP after the embarrassment of Westbrook winning it. Harden no longer has that over his head so as long as he is good by training camp or soon after he’ll be fine. Unlike in 15-16 Harden has Tucker and CP3 to kick his butt back in gear if he slacks off.
I don’t really think Harden looks that different and frankly, his body isn’t meant to be super cut. He has won an MVP, finished second for MVP voting twice... was a CP3 injury away from winning a title..... and we still get **** threads like these.
He is probably carrying 10 extra lbs. Big deal....it is early August. He be fine by the end of September.
It sickens me so much to say it so much that I said Rockets instead of Warriors, lol. No one's beating the Warriors. I will delete my account if the Rockets beat the Warriors in the playoffs.
Harden has a couple of things going against him .. First of all, his game is based on athleticism, and to a large degree his best-in-league ability to -stop- his momentum and step back. That places an incredible amount of strain on his genetically superior mutant knees. If he starts to have -any- knee problems, he instantly becomes mortal. Second, he parties too much and doesn't seem to take his health seriously. I predict his skills/abilities will continue for awhile, then plummet incredibly fast, like falling off a cliff fast. He's not going to slowly diminish of time, it will be an implosion. (My opinion)
